Voting Begins NOW!
Last week, the Freshman Class Board hosted a halloween coloring contest. Students colored pumpkins and submitted them to be voted on.
Click HERE or on the image to vote for the colored pumpkin you like the best. The winner will be announced on Halloween and will win a spooky treat!
The Halloween Talent Show is TONIGHT!
Be Demure, Be Mindful...with your Halloween Costumes
If you are planning to wear your Halloween costume on Thursday, make sure to follow these guidelines:
- Be appropriate for school & follow the dress code
- No look-a-like weapons no matter how fake they look
- No face paint, no masks, no hoods
- No spikes or anything that may harm someone
- No large costumes that may impede your vision, or interrupt the learning of someone else
Writing & Art Contest DEADline on Wednesday
Red, White, & Blue Spirit Day
On Monday, November 4th in honor of Election Day, Leyden students and staff are encouraged to participate in a Red, White, & Blue Spirit Day! Wear Red, White, & Blue clothing to show your support of the US elections.
And don't forget, there is no school on Tuesday, November 5th due to Election Day. If you are 18 years old & registered to vote, make your voice heard & vote!
CBS News Filmed LIVE at East Leyden!
Last Friday, October 25th, CBS News Chicago spent the morning at East Leyden filming LIVE segments featuring students and staff. This is just one of the many special happenings taking place at Leyden in honor of the 100th Anniversary.
Many student groups were filmed for CBS News Chicago, including the Leyden Band, Poms, Cheerleaders, and soccer team. In addition, the Gold & Bold Cafe, Sports & Entertainment Marketing class, and Vega (our new mascot) were featured.

In the last LIVE segment of the day, Leyden athletes took to the pool to battle it out in a kayak race. Check out the video below to see a behind the scenes look at the filming of the kayak race.
