ACT and SAT Preparation!
As we get ready for the upcoming school testing day, here are some helpful testing tips:
- SAT Practice: Whether you're taking the SAT or PSAT, here are some free practice resources
- ACT Practice: Free test prep--Math, English, Science, Reading
- SAT Practice on Bluebook: full-length practice tests that are scored, timed like a real test (but you can move from section to section as you like), can take the practice test with your accommodation (so you can see how it will work on test day). There are currently 6 SAT practice tests in Bluebook, and additional practice tests will be released in February.
- Khan Academy Digital SAT Prep
- "What to Expect from the Digital SAT"
- On testing day, arrive at school a little early--testing will begin promptly at 8:30 AM. Be sure to have your school-issued Chromebook (fully charged) and your charger. Bring a snack and a bottle of water to have at the break. The ACT will be a paper test this spring, so be sure to bring a couple of #2 pencils and an eraser.
- Prohibited devices and aids that are NOT allowed include: cellphones, smartwatches, fitness trackers, or other wearable technology, earbuds/headphones. If you bring any of these devices into the testing room, they must be powered off and stored away from desks. Per SAT, "If your prohibited electronic device makes noise or you're seen accessing it at any time, including breaks, you may be dismissed immediately, your scores can be canceled, and the device may be confiscated and its contents inspected."
- How to see your ACT scores? Log in to MyACT. You will need your email address and password if you already have an account, or you can create an account.
- How to see your SAT scores? Log in to Student Score Reports. You will need your email address and password if you already have an account, or you can create an account. With your College Board account, you'll also have access to BigFuture, which will help you "plan for college, pay for college, and explore careers".
Happy studying!
