Message from the Principal, Dr. Sterling H. Seemans
Springer Families,
If you pull up to Springer Middle School you will see our beautiful Japanese pear trees are beginning to bud. However, if you look at the base of these trees you will see tulips begin to sprout and blossom. Having a perfect view of these from my window I am taken aback by the symbolism. In the Fall of 2023, members of the Legacy Church donated tulip bulbs to Springer Middle School. On a warm September Saturday at Springer a year and a half ago we planted these bulbs around the bases of these trees so they could grow into beautiful flowers. We dug deep, took care of them, gave them water and put them in the best place to grow. Now they are beginning to flower and they are beautiful! All different colors and sizes, some are growing faster than others but they will mature into their final product. Completing their destiny to help make this wonderful school look even better.
The parallels between these flowers and our students are incredible. Our middle schoolers come to us in the late Summer/early Fall. We dedicate time to giving them what they need to be successful. Strong instruction, support emotionally and socially, and the right guidance to navigate school at the secondary level. Our students took on good weather and bad and are now blossoming into beautiful middle school students. Each with their own personality and traits that make them unique. Some of our students figure this out faster than others, but we are confident they will all reach their full potential. At the end of the day, they make Springer a beautiful place to be and we are thankful for both the flowers and the students!
If you have any questions, concerns, or need additional information please do not hesitate to contact me or one of my administrators. We are eager to help.
All The Best,
Dr. Sterling H. Seemans
Principal

Penny Wars to Support California Wildfire Victims
The Penny Wars results are in:
8th grade raised a total of $239.21
7th grade raised a total of $181.15
6th grade raised a total of $21.83
The total amount raised is $442.19 which will be rounded up to $450 from an anonymous contribution.
Once the silver coins were subtracted from the total amount
8th grade - $163.81
7th grade - $165.85
6th grade - $17.48
This makes 7th grade the big winner; however, 8th grade will also win a treat for raising the most money overall. Thank you to all who contributed to this wonderful cause.
Springer Goes to Disney!
Students and staff of our band, choral, and orchestra went to Disney World last week to compete in the Festival Disney music competition! Our students came home with awards and an experience that will last them a lifetime. We wanted to thank Mr. Baronio, Ms. Lee, Mrs. Ferrara, and all of the parent chaperones that made this amazing trip happen. We could not be prouder of our arts department and the exposure and experiences they provide our Springer students.
Traveling Art Exhibit
Over 550 people attended the Peace Art exhibit opening event in January that showcased your child’s artwork!
While the artwork was on display, a jury of community leaders reviewed the 546 visions of peace and selected the strongest messages of peace for the upcoming 2025-26 Pacem in Terris Traveling Peace Youth Art Exhibition. Your child’s artwork was selected to be part of the Pacem in Terris Traveling Peace Youth Art Exhibition!
This year, high quality reproductions of the artwork were made for display at over 25 locations statewide between May 2025 to April 2026. The reproductions allow us to get the original artwork back to you and provide longer and concurrent display time options! This means that your child’s artwork and messages of peace will have a lot of visibility. Over 200,000 people typically walk through the display locations which include state service centers, libraries, and family courthouses.
To celebrate this achievement, we hope your family can join us for a Traveling Peace Youth Art Exhibition Artist and Teacher Celebration on Wednesday, April 30th from 6-7 p.m. at Blue Ball Barn. Please see the attached invitation for how to RSVP and register early.
