Mrs. Lake's Weekly Update
April 7
Dear All Saints Families,
Tomorrow, April 8th, we will have an early dismissal in order for families to travel into the path of the upcoming solar eclipse. SJC will dismiss at 11:30 am, and SMC will dismiss at 11:40 am. An intercampus bus will run between the two campuses at the usual time in the morning and at the early release time. There will be no lunch served that day and those who had ordered have been issued a refund. Extended daycare is available for those who have signed up.
For those who are interested, we are offering a special solar eclipse viewing event for students and families of All Saints Catholic School. This will be an optional after school event at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Lincoln, Maine (about one hour north of Bangor). We are allowed to use the parking lot and indoor bathrooms from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The full eclipse will happen at 3:30 in the afternoon. There will be no school transportation provided since this is an after school event.
If you would like to join us, please sign up though the link below and indicate the number of people attending, the number of solar viewing glasses needed, and if you are able to volunteer in some capacity. Mrs. Rehmeyer has about 100 glasses available for $2 each, payable on the day of the eclipse. The eclipse glasses meet or exceed the International Standard Association (ISO) and American Astronomical Association (AAS) requirements. It is important to never look at the sun with bare eyes!
For those who are attending, don't forget to bring camp chairs, as well as money for concessions, space themed temporary tattoos, snap bracelets, and an eclipse flag raffle. While you are waiting for the eclipse to occur, you will be able to peruse the 6th grade Space Science Posters and Models display, get your face painted, and participate in some simple science activities. Check out the link below for an educational explanation of the eclipse.

Our very own team S.L.A.M.M. is getting ready to head to the World's Robotics Competition at the end of this month. Friday, April 12 will be a donation dress down day with all money raised going to help cover their expenses. We thank you in advance for your support and generosity!
Raffle tickets, a prize sheet and instructions will be going home with students this week. We are hoping families can sell all 20 or more tickets each. We are also looking for people to sell tickets at Mass the first two weekends in May. Sign up below if you are available. Families will earn volunteer hours. Reach out to Kate Carey with any questions.
Spring Sports!
Weather permitting spring sports will start this Tuesday, April 9.
Practice times, meets, and game times/locations can all be found on the FACTS calendar. We will do our best to keep this as accurate and up to date as possible.
When the weather causes us to cancel practices or games, we will communicate it to families through our FACTS alert system and post it on facebook.
Looking forward to the warmer weather and another great sports season!
Shout out to the cast and directors of Once Upon a Parable for their fabulous performances this past weekend. If you had a chance to see them, you know first hand how blessed our school is to have such a talented group of performers.
The Hannaford helps program is back again for another year. The program allows shoppers to earn 3 School Dollars for every 4 participating products purchased. This year at checkout, customers will receive a School Dollar printout they can use to donate to any school enrolled in this program.
To redeem School Dollars towards All Saints Catholic School, all shoppers need to do is enter the unique printout code and store number on the Hannaford Helps Schools program website and select their school. If instead you chose to drop your receipt in the place provided by Hannaford, the total School Dollars collected will be evenly distributed among all participating schools in the area.
The Attic is open for donations from 10am - 12 noon every Wednesday and Saturday, should you have items you no longer need. Thank you for your support of our thrift store!
