Mark your calendars for October 16th, from 12:15 to 1:30 PM, for our first-ever "Stay and Play" event! Riverview is partnering with Playworks to enhance our playground experience for students.
We invite all families to stay after school to learn more about Playworks and enjoy some fun and games together. Here’s what Playworks aims to achieve:
Conflict Resolution: Discover how recess can teach kids valuable tools to resolve disagreements and differences constructively.
Leadership Skills: Experience how play fosters fairness, confidence, and effective communication among children.
Academic Success: Learn how engaging play leads to better class participation, attendance, and grades.
Pull on your tennis shoes and join us for laughter, community, and games. It’s going to be incredibly fun, and we look forward to seeing you there!
From Principal Brawley
At Riverview, we believe that kindness is the foundation of a strong and supportive community. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our theme: "Kindness Begins with Me."
This theme encourages every member of our community—students, families, and staff—to practice and promote kindness in our everyday interactions. By starting with ourselves, we can create a ripple effect that touches everyone around us.
Here’s how you can participate:
Model Kindness: Show compassion and understanding in your actions and words.
Encourage Positive Behavior: Recognize and celebrate acts of kindness in our community.
Support Each Other: Offer help and support to those in need, and be a source of encouragement.
Together, we can continue to build on the wonderful spirit of kindness that already defines our Riverview community. Your ongoing efforts to support and uplift each other make all the difference!
In Kindness,
Principal Brawley
From Coach Murphine
Welcome to an exciting new school year at Riverview! I’m Jennyfer Murphine, your instructional coach, and I’m thrilled to kick off my 10th year in this role! Before this, I spent 15 wonderful years as a classroom teacher, and I’m so grateful to continue my journey with the Riverview community.
You’ll see me in action throughout the school, collaborating with our amazing staff and students on everything from learning and instruction to assessment and curriculum. I also have the pleasure of working closely with Principal Brawley to support family and community engagement. Don’t be surprised if you spot me out at dismissal or leading the Pickleball club again this year!
Being part of Riverview is a true joy, and I can’t wait to work alongside our fantastic families to make this year the best one yet!
Warmly,
Jen Murphine
From Counselor Mills and Counselor Jasper
Welcome to our new half-time counselor, Mr. Jasper! He will be working with all students, with an emphasis on 5th grades. He is enjoying getting to know everyone, particularly when debating with students about the best soccer teams and players. Mr. Jasper brings a calm, friendly presence to our community at Riverview and we’re lucky to have him.

Attendance Goal
This year, improving our attendance is a key goal for our school and the Evergreen School District. We know that every day and every minute of learning counts. When students miss even a single lesson, whether it's math or another subject, it can impact their confidence, hinder their learning progress, and affect their sense of belonging in our school communities.
Let’s work together to ensure that every student is present and engaged. By prioritizing attendance, we support our children’s growth and help them stay connected to their learning journey. Your partnership in this effort is invaluable.
Thank you for your continued support in making attendance matter!
