The boys' varsity Cross Country team competed in the 4A Region II XC Championship on Oct. 24th in Grand Prairie under extremely muggy conditions. The team placed 11th out of 25 total represented teams.
The following athletes had a great season: Tyrus Cowan, Dev Kumar, Grady Wyse, Christian Henderson, Dom David, Liam Aragon, and Skyler Campos. Dev Kumar was just 1 spot away from qualifying for State!
Tyrus Cowan is a State Qualifier! He had a great race and finished 13th overall and 9th individually to compete in the 4A State Criss a country Meet this Saturday, Nov. 4th.
Tyrus is the 1st boy’s runner to make it to State in school history. Congrats, Tyrus!
The Sunnyvale girls' Cross Country team wrapped up their season on Tuesday with Victoria Henderson competing in the Regional Meet. She ran a strong race, finishing 23rd out of 159 competitors! Victoria ran a season best time of 12:50.16 in her 2-mile race, All of the Sunnyvale CC team had a great season. The varsity girls' squad, consisting of Victoria Henderson, Sylvia Baldwin, Brooke Johnson, Keira Fawcett, McKynzie Lacy, Miriam Crownover, and Sydney Fawcett came up just shy of a regional team qualifier by four points at the District Meet. We are proud of you and all of the hard work and long miles you put in this season!
