Recognize outstanding teachers and staff
Has your student been inspired by a District 200 teacher or staff member? Please pick up an Inspiration Nomination form in the Madison PTA President mailbox by the copy room or download it here for your child to fill out. Simply send it into the Madison office or send directly to the District 200 Public Relations Office at 130 W Park Ave., Wheaton, IL 60189.
If your student would prefer to fill out an online nomination form, you can find it here.

Roller skating week needs volunteers
Next week is roller skating week in P.E., and you could help put smiles on kids' faces. If you can spare some time, students could use your assistance getting skates on and off, making sure wrist guards and helmets are on correctly, and putting skates away. If you'd like to help, please let Mr. Cortesi know: joseph.cortesi@cusd200.org.
Gaga has come to Madison!
Madison raises money and awareness for St. Baldrick's
This year, Madison raised more than $23,000 for St. Baldrick's Foundation (and the number keeps growing!) That makes a two-year total of more than $43,000 raised. Your kids are making a difference in the lives of others.
Madison's St. Baldrick's assembly also created media coverage. Check out the articles from the Daily Herald, Triblocal and Wheaton Patch:

Battle of the Books team wins award
Madison's Battle of the Books team won the Wheaton Public Library's award for most participants again this year. Since the turn of the century, Madison's team has won this award almost every year! Madison had 33 fourth and fifth graders competing, more than any other school. The team also won a meet with a score of 76 (just one question shy of a perfect score!) Congratulations to all the Battlers, including those kids who didn't compete at the Wheaton Public Library.

Stuff for the Poor shoe drive
Are you spring cleaning? Set aside your unwanted gently used shoes for the Madison Cares April service project -- Stuff for the Poor. This charity collects and sells used shoes to adults and children in Uganda and Haiti. A local buyer buys the items and resells them at a fair price, providing wearable shoes to those in need. Proceeds from the shoe sales help cover educational expenses for children in these villages.
The shoe drive begins Wed., April 15-Mon., April 27. Questions? Email Shannon Klopfenstein at Shannon@klopfensteins.com.
