On behalf of the entire Westwood Elementary Staff, I’d like to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! I hope you've had some time this summer to make memories as a family & that your kids have been able to do some resting up for a new year. I'd like to welcome all of our returning families back to Westwood. I'd also like to extend a special welcome to all of our new families, both our incoming 1st graders & those coming from other schools.
My name is Ryan Hart & I have been Westwood's Principal for 8 years. I have a child who is 4, so I spent much of my summer having fun with him! My wife is a social worker who is currently staying at home with our son. Our family vacationed to Wisconsin, Florida, & Colorado this summer & enjoyed all there was to do outside. While I absolutely cherished my family time these past several weeks, I also love my job as principal & I feel incredibly grateful to work with a staff as dedicated & caring as Westwood's! We are all very much looking forward to welcoming your kids to our school to have a great year!
I email a newsletter with important information as needed, typically about once a month, as well as post it on Class Dojo & Westwood's Facebook page. We also post smaller 1 or 2 item updates & important information on Class Dojo & Facebook as needed. Parents & guardians will receive Class Dojo invitations from their child's teacher once we get closer to the school year, so for now I'll communicate with our new families via email.
Please see the information below for a few important dates & information about our free & reduced lunch programs. I look forward to getting to know you & your child this year!
Please call our main office at 815-337-8173 with any questions or concerns. Communication with the classroom teachers & the office is important to us. If you have any questions or want to know who to contact for certain concerns, please feel free to contact me directly at 815-206-7740 (direct office line) or 815-345-1253 (cell).
