Principal's Message
Good evening, Bruin families-
Winterfest Spirit Week is here! I’m excited to see everyone participate and show off their creativity and school spirit. Make sure to plan your outfits for each themed day and for the Winter Formal!
Please note that Wednesday, December 11th, will follow a minimum day schedule.
As we approach the end of the semester, it’s a great time for students to refocus on their academics. Encourage your student to step away from distractions, such as social media, and dedicate time to studying and completing assignments.
Final exams are scheduled for December 18th, 19th, and 20th. Let’s finish the semester strong!
Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
Principal
Julie Hummel

Staff Member's Of The Week
Ms. Jamie Hillis
Social Science Teacher
Mrs. Melissa Peterson
Special Education Teacher
This week’s staff members of the week are: Ms. Jamie Hillis and Mrs. Melissa Peterson
Ms. Jamie Hillis is one of the first people on campus and one of the last to leave despite living an hour away. Ms. Hillis does a great deal to support the instructional and socio-emotional needs of our upperclassmen. She supported the needs of her students by purchasing four class sets of literary texts to use this year. She has BC as her soul and lays her heart and best efforts out for her students each and every day.
Mrs. Melissa Peterson goes above and beyond in support of the Bear Creek Community. She has helped mentor beginner teachers and get them up to speed on how to be their best teaching selves. Mrs Peterson is dedicated to helping students by always encouraging them to do their best and recognizing everyone’s strengths. She always wants the best for her students and The Creek. She has a welcoming smile for everyone and can turn a bad day into a good one.
When you see Ms. Jamie Hillis and Mrs. Melissa Peterson, please congratulate them on being Staff Member of the Week and thank them for all that they do for the BC Community.

Parent Climate Survey (K-12)
Dear Lodi Unified School District Parents and Guardians
Each year, the district desires to obtain community input to measure parent and family engagement, including how well the district builds relationships between school staff and families, builds partnerships for student outcomes, and seeks input for decision-making. Each year the district collects this information in part using the Parent Climate Survey. This survey also helps determine the allocation of services included in the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), and is used to evaluate the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) for each Title I school site. It is a valuable source of information, and we hope that you take the time to answer thoughtfully. The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete. The survey will be available from December 9th to December 20th. This link will take you to the survey. Your responses will remain anonymous.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback!
If you have any questions, contact Uve Dahmen.
Attention Seniors:
Financial Aid Resources
The FAFSA and CADAA are scheduled to open on December 1, 2024 for the 2025-26 academic year. The delay from the customary October 1 opening day is to allow the US Department of Education time to perform beta testing and eliminate issues.
November is a great time to encourage your FAFSA families to create their FSA IDs, allowing time to fix any issues if they should arise. (And, yes, there have been some issues with FSA IDs in the month of October).
