ParentVUE for Elementary School Parents
Parents of elementary students who do not already have an active ParentVUE account will soon receive a letter with an Activation Key and instructions on how to set up their ParentVUE account. Please contact your child's elementary school with questions.
Kindergarten Counts – January 23
Lake Oswego School District's Kindergarten Counts will take place Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. at all elementary schools. This event introduces Lake Oswego parents to the full-day kindergarten program and Extended Day program and ensures that new families are connected to their school. All families with a child who will be five years old by September 1, 2019, are encouraged to attend.
This year Kindergarten Counts will coincide with the debut of the District’s new online registration portal. Rather than providing a paper registration form that night, parents will learn about online registration so that they can later enroll their children from home or wherever they access the internet (no registration via smartphone).

All Parents Encouraged to take Special Education Audit Survey
The District recently received the Special Education Audit. It is an important document that will help shape the programs and supports provided to students who receive special education services. The parents of SSPAC would like your feedback on the priorities outlined in the document. Please review the audit here and then please take this 15 minute survey here:
The survey is open from November 30 to December 12. If you have questions, please contact Traci Reiner at reinert@loswego.k12.or.us.
Talented and Gifted (TAG) Advisory Committee Application Deadline – December 7
For questions please contact Sharmae at sharmae.carlisle@loswego.k12.or.us
Celebrate Bryant Elementary
Celebrate Bryant Elementary on Saturday, December 8 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Join us for an ice cream social to celebrate the students and staff who made Bryant Elementary such a special place. A short speaking program will be held at 3:00 p.m.
Hundreds of students have passed through the Bryant campus and left their mark on the campus—quite literally. Many student artworks are installed and inhabit the Bryant campus, from tiles to mosaics and murals. LOSD is working with the Arts Council of Lake Oswego to document and preserve artwork and memorials at the Bryant site, with input from the community, artists, and professionals. Many methods and options for preservation are available—from photo-documentation to 3D scanning, and reproductions to virtual reality tours. We are excited to explore how we will preserve the contributions to this school. Your photos and stories can be submitted to: BryantMemories@loswego.k12.or.us .

SafeOregon
If parents are ever concerned about a student’s well-being, feel free to reach out to your principal. It is important to keep your lines of communication open and maintain strong partnerships between students, families, staff, and other resources.
SafeOregon also is an effective way to report a tip regarding safety threats or potential acts of violence to our students or schools.
(Students should also know that intentionally providing a false report is a serious offense.)
