Marcum Matters

We will be holding our End of Year ROAR Assembly on Thursday, June 6th at 9:00 am. During the assembly, we will be recognizing some of our TK-7th grade students for their achievements throughout this school year. We will also be recognizing our kindergartners with a promotion certificate. We hope you can join us to celebrate the success of our students. 8th Grade students will be recognized at 8th Grade Graduation.

The 8th grade promotion ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 6th in the multi-use room. Graduation starts at 6:30. Doors will open at 5:30. Each graduate will have 4 assigned seats in the front few rows. The remaining rows of chairs will be open seating. We also plan to livestream the ceremony on our school Facebook page.

Be sure to remind your child to check the lost and found for any items that may belong to them. We'll be donating whatever is left in the lost and found after the last day of school.

Friday, June 7th is the last day of school for the 2023-2024 school year. It is a minimum day and there is No Den. Students will be dismissed at 12:20 tk-2, 12:25 3-5, 12:30 6-8. The bus will run its minimum day route. If your child is normally in the Den, please make sure you have made proper arrangements for your child to be picked up.

Are you hoping to prevent the summer slide? Do you want your child to continue working on

skills over break? Look no further than Exact Path by Edmentum!

Exact Path in an online learning program that Marcum has been using for intervention support the past 3 years. Each student has their own unique “learning path” that has already been generated by their most recent MAP assessment in math and reading. For any skill not yet met, students will be provided with a lesson, practice, and a mastery check. Depending on the student, this may be a skill missing from their current or prior grade level, or a challenge skill from a higher grade level. House points will be awarded this coming fall based on time spent on the program over summer!

If you are in need of a chromebook for the summer to allow your child to access the program, have questions, or need help accessing the platform, contact Mrs. Irby at maggiei@sutter.k12.ca.us !

A flyer will also be sent home this week with information on how to get your child to log in to Edmentum.

Marcum recently replaced the classroom sets of Chromebooks for multiple grade levels because the older Chromebooks could not support the update needed to access the platform for CAASPP. Although these devices are older, they do still work just fine for typical internet usage including Edmentum. The devices have been returned to the factory settings and have a power cord. The MIUSD Board has donated the older Chromebooks to Marcum Parents’ Club to give to Marcum students who would like a Chromebook at home. If your Wildcat would like a Chromebook, please contact the office. They are available on a first come, first serve basis until they are all gone.

Summer meals are available at multiple nearby locations for all children under the age of 18 this summer!

The School Calendar for 2024-2025 was approved on February 14, 2024.
