Differentiated Education Plans (DEPs)
A Differentiated Education Plan (DEP) is a document created for students who are identified as Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG). The DEP is a yearly plan that outlines the services a student receives. Your AIG lead teacher will be in touch regarding your child’s Differentiated Education Plan.
Things to remember about your child’s DEP:
Initiated each year
Outlines a service delivery plan to span one academic year
Includes an annual goal for your child
Each school will host a DEP Parent Night to discuss the DEP process. You may also access the presentation below that includes an overview of this process.
Modified Pull Out
Math
Students will be developing and practicing critical-thinking skills to deepen their understanding of new concepts while drawing logical conclusions. We will be using the “Hands-On Equations Learning System," a manipulatives-based curriculum that introduces students to algebraic linear equations. Students will also be using deductive thinking by solving a variety of Three Act Math Tasks. These fun and engaging tasks are based on three parts (acts) of: presenting a problem, collecting data, and revealing your answer.
