Dear Seaside Families,
Believe it or not we have one full day left and two half days of school left for the 23-24 school year! We had an amazing time at our field days with Ms. Arnold and our PTO celebration day for all grade levels. Thank you to everyone who was able to come and/or volunteer during these days. We cannot thank you enough for the amazing support that we have received from all of our stakeholders. We have our 4th grade moving up day on Monday, at 8:15 A.M. We are looking forward to celebrating them as they will be leaving us and going to St. James Intermediate School next year. Please do not forget that on Tuesday and Wednesday those are half days of school. That means that we get out of school two and a half hours early. Instead of getting out at 2:40 P.M., we will be getting out of school at 12:10 P.M. I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend! The weather is gorgeous! For the last time this school year we will see everyone back at Seaside Elementary on Monday, June 3, 2024.

Fourth Grade Moving Up Day!
Dear Fourth Grade Parents,
On Monday morning, please use the bus loop for parking. If the bus loop gets filled up, please use the teacher parking lot to park. Everyone will be entering through the gym.
If you are a parent or family member that cannot be at the Fourth Grade ceremony we have created a Google Meets Link for you to use. We ask that ONLY family members of students who are in fourth grade use this link. Please make sure that you have yourself muted as well. We do not want any issues during this time and wanted to create a way for our fourth grade families to view the ceremony if they are unable to come. Please see the link below.

HCS Registration is open!
CD Applications
Applications for the 2024-25 Child Development program is now available on the HCS website. Students eligible for Child Development must be age 4 before September 1, 2024.
Kindergarten Registration Dates
Kindergarten registration for 2024-25 is now open. Students registering for Kindergarten must be age 5 by September 1, 2024.
All New and Returning Students
Registration for all new and returning students in grades 1-5 began on May 1, 2024. You can access registration for these grades online at the HCS website. All students must register each year with Horry County Schools.

****Please note that you must be registered in order to find out your child's teacher for the 24-25 school year. Families of grades first through fourth will find out who their student (s) teacher is on the week of June 24-June 27. If your child is not registered you will not know who your child's teacher is until you register. Powerschool will be down and being updated from June 28 until about July 10. Please don't wait to register!****

We are ready to Rent the Rock!!! We are ready to book your shout outs, birthdays, etc! Please reach out via email (ssepto@horrycountyschools.net) or message us on Facebook. $20 to rent the rock…and you provide the art/artist 🎨🪨🎨
*You will be able to gain access to the rock at 4pm the day before your rental date.
Thank you so much to all of the students, parents, and guardians who have returned lost library books and taken care of fines – we have less than 80 books to be returned, down from over 400. We appreciate everyone working hard to make sure the books can be enjoyed by students for many years to come. Information about our 2024 Summer Reading Program has gone home with students. Please check your child's backpack!
Seaside Families, I cannot stress this enough. We are seeing a big increase with things that should be staying at home. Please check your child's backpack for inappropriate items, personal electronic devices, toys, stuffed animals, Pokemon cards, sports cards, plush toys, key chains etc. We do not want your child losing their personal items. We are not responsible for any lost items. We do not want any items coming to school that may cause a safety issue or cause your child to get into trouble. Students do not need to bring any sports equipment or balls to school. We have more than enough equipment for students to use. Please note for the 24-25 school year that all schools in Horry County will be going to clear book bags. You will see this information when registering your student (s) for next school year.

Traffic Reminder!
For safety purposes I am reminding all of our parents that between the hours of 7-8 A.M. and 2-3 P.M. there is a sign at the end of the road that says to make a right turn on to Highway 17. Please be safe and follow all road signs. Thank you for your help with this.
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders!
Our doors open for our students at 7 A.M.
- Breakfast begins at 7 A.M. and ends at 7:35 A.M.
- Tardy bell rings at 7:40 A.M. (Please make sure you are on time.) Our car rider line is empty from 7-7:25. Everything starts to pick up right at the last 15 minutes.
- Dismissal is at 2:40. If you are picking up in the car rider line, please have your car rider tag on your dash board the entire time or you will be asked to park and come to the front office.
Attendance Matters!
Research shows that consistent attendance is a critical piece of student success. Absences with doctor notes (medical, eye, dentist) will be marked as medically excused. If absent due to death in the family an obituary or memorial information is needed to excuse for bereavement.
If any of the following occur Horry County Schools requires an attendance meeting to implement an AIP (Attendance Intervention Plan):
- 3 consecutive unexcused absences
- 5 accumulative unexcused absences
- 10 unexcused tardy/early sign-outs
Message from Nurse Hopkins
Please reach out to Nurse Hopkins if your child has any medical issues that the school may need to know (severe allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures, etc.) If you need to reach her please call the school at 843-650-3490 or by email at MHopkins002@horrycountyschools.net. It is imperative that we know about any medical issues so that we are able to keep your child safe at all times.Please make sure that your child's shot records are up to date.
