Early College High School News
Mission Statement
Our ECHS Owls are taught to have H.O.P.E.--faith in the premise that they can create OPPORTUNITY and a better future through EFFORT, HARD WORK, and PERSONAL COURAGE. This idea of H.O.P.E. is woven into the fabric of our ECHS family.
Greetings ECHS Community!
Thanks to all members of our school community for helping to make Early College High School such a wonderful place.
February is African American/Black History Month. The contributions of individuals will be highlighted by way of our ECHS weekly announcements and within the OWL Update.
We have concluded our fourth week within this third nine week period. We want to encourage ALL of our ECHS students to please reach out to communicate with your teachers/professors early and often. Please take advantage of available campus and ACC support, whenever needed. Students (along with their parents) who are currently failing ECHS classes, will be contacted by their teachers to ensure they knew what was needed to raise their grades. If communication has been received from ACC regarding students in danger of failing, their ECHS counselors will be reaching out to meet specifically with those students (and their parents). All ECHS students, please remember your teachers are available to assist during class time, office hours and during tutorials. We are here to support the well-being of our ECHS students along with their overall success: socially, emotionally and academically.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
GO OWLS!

DISTRICT UPDATE:
Round Rock ISD named a CTE District of Distinction
Feb 1, 2025
Round Rock ISD has been recognized as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT). This honor highlights the district’s exemplary leadership, innovation, and dedication to preparing students for success through its robust Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
“We are so honored to receive this recognition because it validates all the hard work put in by our students, teachers, staff, business partners, and the community,” said Sheri Bonds, director of Career and Technical Education at Round Rock ISD.
The CTE District of Distinction program celebrates outstanding career and technical programs across Texas. Districts are chosen based on innovative programming, industry-based certifications, alignment with workforce needs, and exceptional student outcomes.
“We are all committed to offering cutting-edge programs to our students, fostering strong community and industry partnerships, and providing the most relevant educational experiences possible, and that’s what this award embodies,” said Bonds. “This award belongs to everyone who has supported CTE in Round Rock ISD.”
Round Rock ISD’s CTE programs include 28 pathways, such as Computer Science and Health Science. These programs offer students industry-based certifications, Advanced Placement, dual-credit courses, and work-based learning opportunities. Additionally, the district has launched its first P-TECH program in Nursing, allowing students to earn a high school diploma, associate degree, and experience with a Licensed Vocational Nurse concurrently.
This recognition underscores Round Rock ISD’s commitment to student achievement and innovation in workforce readiness, serving as a model for excellence statewide.
