Showcase a School
Booster Club Donation
Steve Gibbs, Booster Club President, presented a $147,000 check to the Chi-Hi Athletics Fund for the 2024-25 school year. Due to the Booster Club’s continued commitment to raising funds for our student athletes, participation costs remain low and all coaching requests were able to be fulfilled for this year!
Chippewa Falls Senior High School
Donna Goodman, Chi-Hi Principal, showcased the people and programs within Chi-Hi that are becoming and creating the next generation of educators. The following staff members were recognized for their commitment to furthering their education in pursuit of education-related degrees:
- Tara Lock, Math Support Instructional Assistant - Attending Grand Canyon University to pursue a teaching degree in mathematics. She will be graduating next Spring!
- Sarah Huebner, SPED Educational Assistant - Attending UW-Eau Claire to pursue a teaching degree and will be student teaching next Fall.
- Julie Atkisson, SPED Educational Assistant - Attending UW-Eau Claire to pursue a teaching degree.
- Heather Mosher, Student Services Administrative Assistant - Attending UW-Superior to earn her Master’s in school counseling and will graduate in the Spring of 2026.
- Danielle Hatfield, Student Services Registrar - Attending Madison Area Tech to earn her degree in Human Resources.
Katelyn Hahn, CTE Instructor, shared the different transcripted courses that are offered at Chi-Hi for students to jump start their Education-focused career pathway. Chi-Hi offers six 3-credit courses, which equals out to a full semester of college credit that our students are able to take for FREE. Chi-Hi also offers a classroom assistant program which gives students the opportunity to get into the elementary and middle school classrooms to gain hands-on experience and a glimpse into what it is like to be a teacher.
Mrs. Goodman also recognized three new employees and Chi-Hi graduates, Theresa Nichols, Ryan Krumenauer, and Allie Johnson. Theresa is also working towards her bachelor's degree in special education, Ryan will be teaching middle school special education and Allie will be teaching 5th grade at Jim Falls Elementary; click here for the presentation.
District Wellness Action Plan Annual Review
Melissa Panchychyn (sounds like "magician"), Assistant Food Service Director, provided an annual report. This year, the District is due for a triennial assessment of the student nutrition and wellness policy. The District scored highest in nutrition education and lowest in wellness promotion and marketing. The wellness committee will meet periodically this school year to determine ways to make improvements and to update the policy. Melissa shared that nutrition standards for sodium and added sugar are scheduled to be implemented in the next few years. Student meal prices continue to remain the same as previous years, despite dropping meal replacement rates and increased food costs; click here for presentation.

Resolution Authorizing Temporary Borrowing in an Amount Not to Exceed $6,600,000; Issuance of Tax and Revenue Anticipation Promissory Notes; and Participation in the PMA Levy and Aid Anticipation Notes Program

Communicating with the Board (if applicable, click on the report heading for greater detail)
Chad Trowbridge, Director of Business Services & Finance, provided an update on the current enrollment numbers. The District continues to monitor the class sizes at all elementary schools; if you have not registered your child(ren), please do so tomorrow or Tuesday. This coming school year we will update our Applied Population Lab Study that focuses on historical demographics, growth in the area, changes to our demographics and what that might mean for us as a school system. We will also be updating our Master Facility Plan. Elementary attendance boundaries will also be considered during the course of this next school year.
Sue Kern, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, provided an overview of this year’s summer school programming.
Jeff Holmes, Superintendent of Schools, provided the Board with the annual Neola technical changes.
