Magyar's Message Feb. 15, 2024
-From The Desk of the Superintendent-
Dear ALCS Families,
While our students enjoyed the day off from school today, our staff was busy engaging in a variety of professional development activities. Days like today provide time for staff to learn new skills to implement in their classrooms, collaborate with others, discuss curriculum and data, and further develop their expertise. Thank you to our dedicated staff for your engagement and commitment to growing your profession.
Our students were busy this week planning for next year as ALHS administrators and counselors held several scheduling presentations. Our middle and intermediate schools are also preparing students for next year. It is exciting to see the process of course selections. We have many wonderful opportunities for our students.
Valentine’s Day was celebrated throughout our district with Merplegrams, classroom parties, orchestra performances, sweet treats, and exchanging Valentines. We love our students and staff. Thank you to the many volunteers who made the day successful.
Congratulations to ALHS senior Bella Pfeil for winning the Northwest Division I girls district diving title this week at Bowling Green State University. She is the first Lorain County athlete to win back-to-back district diving titles. Best of luck Bella at States next week.
Reminder, there is still time to complete our online survey regarding our Building ALegacy initiative. The survey will close on February 29. If you have not had a chance to respond, we would love to hear from you. Please use the QR code below, or click here.
Also just a reminder that our next Parent Night is coming up on March 12 at 6 p.m. in the High School Commons. Please save the date for this very important conversation on the effects social media is having on our kids. More information will follow in the next few weeks.
If you know someone in our community who is currently not affiliated with our schools, but would like to receive information regarding our schools, please have them subscribe to our email list at the following link, click here.
Thank you for your continued support of our schools.
Reminder, there is no school Monday (Presidents’ Day). Enjoy the long weekend.
Sincerely,
Joelle Magyar
