1st Grade - Enrichment
1st graders are learning about Biomimicry and how people copy nature to solve problems in their Enrichment classes. The children listened to the Mo Willems book Today I Will Fly, which tells the story of how the character Piggy wants to fly. They took what was read to the next level...and using the Engineering Design Process, they thought about what they might biomimic in nature to actually help Piggy. Once they decided what creature they would copy, they made plans and then constructed something to help Piggy "fly!!!" The students did an amazing job and used what they learned about Biomimicry to create something that would help Piggy glide through the air!!! Great job 1st graders!!!
