24-25 TIMA Maritime Fund
Dear TIMA Families,
As we enter this season of gratitude, my appreciation for our wonderful community, our unique school, and our remarkable team here at TIMA grows ever deeper. If you feel inspired to give back, we warmly invite you to support our upcoming Maritime Fund Giving Day on December 3, 2024. Your gift at any time leading up to this day will set an inspiring example and encourage others to join in supporting our mission.
This year, our goal is to raise $100,000 for the TIMA Maritime Fund, which supports every part of our school’s work. Over the past two years, our community has demonstrated extraordinary philanthropic support, collectively raising over $220,000. Each year, we aim to build on this momentum to further our mission and steward our school forward, in alignment with our strategic imperative to design a sustainable future.
Now celebrating over a decade as a school, the Maritime Fund enables us to sustain and enhance our dedicated faculty, support essential transportation, and adapt our aging facilities to meet the needs of a modern, dynamic education. These upgrades are crucial for creating a safe and innovative environment where our students can thrive. Participation in this campaign not only reflects our culture of philanthropy but also demonstrates our shared commitment to elevating each student’s learning experience.
Our ambitious aim this year is to reach 100% family participation. Contributions of every size make a meaningful difference, and we’re grateful for any level of support you’re able to provide. Each gift, no matter the amount, sends a strong message of support for TIMA and our mission. As a charter school, we navigate unique financial challenges; while we receive public funding, we cover transportation, facilities, and capital improvements independently. Our community’s generosity helps us bridge this gap and continue offering our students an exceptional education.
To give, please visit our website for secure, convenient donation options, including recurring donations. Alternatively, print and fill out the form linked below. Checks made out to “Friends of TIMA” can be mailed to: Tybee Island Maritime Academy, PO Box 1519, Tybee Island, GA 31328. If you own a business or know of a business interested in contributing, please contact Chyna Young (china.young@sccpss.com) to support this.
In closing, I extend my heartfelt thanks for your ongoing dedication and support of TIMA. Together, let’s make this campaign our most successful yet and ensure a bright future for our students. The campaign closes on December 3rd—thank you for being part of this journey with us.
With warm gratitude,
Peter Ulrich, Principal
