Car Rider Line - Help!
We need your help! The car rider line is up and moving. If you could keep your car rider number up through the entire line, it helps the line move so much faster. This way we can double check numbers to students and get you out and on your way. Thank you!
A note from Mrs. Satkoski....
We did it! We successfully finished our first three days of school. Now to tackle a full week! Hopefully everyone will get some rest this weekend and be ready to roll.
Some lunch reminders......
- We love guests! Parents may eat with their student only (unless prior permission is given by other student's parents/guardians). There are many booths available for lunch with parents. Lunch time are as follows:
- K - 11 - 11:30
- 1st - 11:35 - 12:05
- 2nd - 12:15 - 12:45
- 3rd - 11:10 - 11:40
- 4th - 11:50 - 12:20
- Please do not send colored drinks to school (especially red) - they stain floors, tables, and clothing. Candy and gum are also not permitted. Thank you for your help!
- We do have many students with food allergies. Your teacher will notify you if your classroom is peanut/nut free. We do have tables that are peanut/nut free in both the gym and cafeteria.
PreK at Grant Line
We have some available spots for our Preschool program at Grant Line. If you or anyone else you know would be interested, please reach out to Mrs. Satkoski at msatkoski@nafcs.org or 812-542-5502. Students must be FOUR by August 1, 2024.
Counselor's Corner
I'm so excited to start this new school year with all of you. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Lisa McCory. I have the honor of being your child's school counselor. This is my 30th year here at Grant Line Elementary School. I do a variety of things here at Grant Line. My number one job is to keep your child safe. This is something that I take very seriously. My other duties include classroom guidance, individual sessions, topic driven groups, organizing mentor programs, distributing blessings in a backpack, investigating bully allegations, communicating with parents, and connecting children and families to resources. I am available through the week at 812-542-5707. This is my direct number. I usually get back to you the same day. Thanks for trusting your children to us. We are on this school journey together.
I wish you well,
Lisa McCory, Counselor

New Position, Familiar Face!
Hi everyone, my name is Alyssa Kraemer and I am the building substitute at GLE. This school year I will be finishing my Masters Degree in School Counseling at IUS, on track to graduate in May 2025. I will be interning with the counselor (Lisa McCory) the entire 2024-2025 school year. I cannot wait to build relationships and connections with each and every student. I am so excited for this school year! Fun fact: I attended K-4 at Grant Line Elementary. Once a Yellowjacket, always a yellow jacket!
Student Insurance - Optional
If your student needs insurance, here is the information. This is not required, only optional.
School Treats
Dear parents/guardians:
Food allergies, intolerances and other dietary-related medical conditions are a growing concern for our schools. Children who are affected can suffer a severe or even fatal reaction if they eat or come into contact with food that they are allergic to, and there are other children who can have life altering medical issues if they consume certain foods.
For the safety of these students, we are encouraging parents to celebrate birthdays and other occasions with non-food items such as stickers, pencils, themed erasers, or other trinkets, rather than food. If a special arrangement is made for a classroom party, any food that is sent in to share with students should be pre-packaged and contain an ingredient label AND must be approved beforehand.
Thank you in advance for making the class environment a safe and healthy place for the students. By working together, we can make a difference for our children!
Kind regards,
Sherry Stanfield, RN, BSN
Grant Line Elementary School Nurse
