This weekend's weather certainly has all the feels of fall! We were able to visit our oldest at Mizzou this weekend to catch one of his soccer games. I hope you were able to enjoy this weekend's weather and events.

Sperreng Color Run-October 12
10am-12pm, Saturday, Oct. 12
Sperreng Middle School is hosting a family-friendly fun run for the entire community! Participate in a one mile color run with treats and music! Registration is required. Find more information at and click HERE to register for the event.
All School Spirit Day Thursday-Hawaiian Luau gear
Come to school in your best Hawaiian Luau gear to help celebrate the first Sperreng Cross Country meet of the year. Stay after school to cheer on your friends as they run their first race!
Sperreng & Truman Jazz Ensemble Announcement
Students,
Any bass, piano or guitar player interested in participating in the Sperreng/Truman Jazz Ensemble should stop by the band room to pick up audition material. Auditions will be held after school on September 18 in the Sperreng band room. See Mr. Wyss for more information.
Show Choir Video Auditions
This exciting performance group open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students from Sperreng and Truman middle school. We perform a wide variety of music including current popular music and broadway style show tunes. Students need no prior singing or dance experience, but must be actively committed to learning how to do both. Required rehearsals take place Fridays after school at Truman Middle School till 5:15. Carpools can and will be coordinated from Sperreng to Truman as needed. We perform in a winter and a spring concert. In May we compete at Six Flags St. Louis. If you are interested, please email Ms. Dean at pauladean@lindberghschools.ws for more information. All video auditions are due Monday September 23rd and our first rehearsal is Friday October 4th.
Environmental Club Starts Wednesday
If you are into the environment and want to help our school and community be green, join the environmental club! First meeting is Wednesday, September 11 after school in room 110.

Yearbook Club Applications Due September 9
Applications for Yearbook Club are due no later than September 9th. In order to apply, student's must use their district provided email account only. Counseling Needs Assessment
Our counselors work with students in small groups to meet their needs as indicated on a needs assessment survey. This survey will be provided next week in Flyer Time, and we have included the options of groups that students can select if interested. If you want your child opt'd out of this survey, we need to know by Friday, September 22. Please contact your child's grade level counselor. Their email addresses are below. Parents will also receive a permission slip if a student selects an interest to participate.

SSD Family Academy
Special School District of St. Louis County is sponsoring a Family Academy fair for school districts in the south St. Louis region, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, at Southview School, 11660 Eddie and Park Road. Sunday Night Lights - Celebrating 15 Years!
Sunday Night Lights is celebrating 15 years in the Lindbergh Community, and the entire Lindbergh community is invited to help fill the stands and cheer on children who have braved the journey of a serious childhood disease on Sunday, Oct. 13.

Gifted Association of Missouri Virtual Speaker Series: “Parenting Your Gifted Child”
Parenting gifted children can be challenging, but new research shows that environments focused on strengths and talents are helping students to thrive. But what does that mean? Region 8 Representative and Lindbergh parent Aisha Hasan discusses what strengths-based means, how it can change your parenting, and ways to shift into a strengths-based mindset.
Love to Read? Stories to Service Needs Volunteers for Book Selection Committee!
- “From Stories to Service” is returning in fall 2024, and we are looking for volunteers to read and select books for consideration. Volunteers will be responsible for reading and completing a short evaluation of 15-20 picture books, and attending a committee meeting in late September.
- “From Stories to Service” is an opportunity for community members to read with students and support service learning, with a culminating event to bring our community together. This year’s theme is “Intergenerational Relationships.”
