Hello Empresa Families,
What a fabulous time it is to be at Empresa. I'm thrilled to report that I am back, feeling healthy, rejuvenated, and eager to continue our journey together at Empresa. The warmth of your well wishes and positive energy has been incredibly uplifting, and I'm grateful for each and every one of you and our Empresa Knights
As we dive back into our routines and activities, let's continue to foster an environment of kindness, curiosity, and growth for our students. Together, we make Empresa a truly special place for learning and exploration.
Sincerely,
Kim Hollowell
Take the California Healthy Kids Survey
VUSD has been selected to take part in the California Healthy Kids Survey this year, and it has three components: students (5th grade only), parents, and staff. Please participate using the information below - your voice is helpful! The survey deadline is 4/15.
The purpose of this survey is to obtain parent perceptions about your child's school. Your participation is voluntary. It is also very important. The information you provide will help guide district and school efforts to promote safety, enhance learning supports, improve student achievement, and reduce health risks that stand as barriers to learning.
If you have any questions, see this document or email Ms. Lentz. Thanks in advance!

Living The Empresa ROCKS Way
PBIS: Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is a proactive approach to behavior management in schools and other settings. PBIS emphasizes teaching and reinforcing positive behaviors rather than solely focusing on punishment for negative behaviors. It involves creating a supportive and structured environment, setting clear expectations, and recognizing students when they meet expected behaviors. The goal of PBIS is to improve overall behavior and create a more positive and productive atmosphere.
The Empresa ROCKS Way School-Wide Expectations
Having a few simple, positively stated expectations facilitates the teaching of behaviors across school settings because students will be learning through the same language.
The following five expectations are the essence of displaying the “Empresa ROCKS Way” at Empresa Elementary School:
- R- We Show Respect
- O-We Take Ownership of Our Actions
- C-We Care About Our Learning
- K-We Show Kindness to Others
- S-We Use Safe Decision Making
Our Student of the Month Awards, ROCKstar Awards, POPPStar Awards, and Noteable Tickets are all tied to these 5 expectations and Living the Empresa ROCKS Way.
Register for AMPM for the 24-25 School Year
