Note From the School Board
Please tell us! The Montpelier Roxbury School Board places a very high value on community engagement and input, and we know that we can improve our practices to this end. Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey to let us know how we could better serve and engage YOU! There are just a few multiple choice questions, and then an opportunity to provide open feedback and rank other people's suggestions/thoughts. We expect it will take you no more than 3-5 minutes. Thank you so much for your time.
From Matt Link: Our Athletic Director

4 MS Meet the Coaches night will be 3/14 5:00pm at MHS (We will be at the HS as there is more parking there!) We will hold a Meet the Coaches Night in order for everyone to meet their coaches before the season begins! When you get to the school you will go to an area with just your team and coach to talk about your upcoming year. This meeting is for both the player and the parents/caregivers. You'll get to find out more about practice times and try out information, along with team expectations and policies at these meetings so please make sure you show up.
5. If you're looking for Solon gear we have a school store open and ready to go! Go to https://sideline.bsnsports.com/schools/vermont/montpelier/main-street-middle-school to order any and all Solon gear for you and your team! Part of the proceeds kick back to the school so not only will you be able to show off your Solon pride but you'll be helping out the teams as well!

The City of Montpelier seeks community feedback as part of their master planning process of the Country Club Road property. Based on community feedback from the fall, the City’s project team have created three test sketches showing the broad spectrum of possible scales for the two most desired uses: housing and recreation (indoor and outdoor). You can find the natural resource assessment, test sketches and buildable areas maps, ways to engage in this process and the community survey that is open through February 17th on the City’s website here.

Caregivers' Alliance: Popcorn Friday Support!
Caregiver Opportunity: Application Screening & Interview Committee
As we prepare for the 2023- 2024 school year, we will likely have a need to create Screening Committees which will review and interview applicants for potential openings at Main Street Middle School. We are hoping to create a bank of caregivers that are willing to serve in this capacity to ensure that caregiver perspectives are taken into account throughout the hiring process.
Ideally, each screening committee would consist of: 1-2 Caregivers, 1-2 Students (generally in grades 5-7), 2-3 Existing Staff members & an administrator
Commitment would include signing a confidentiality agreement regarding the entire process (to protect the privacy of all applicants), reading through qualified applications, & joining the interview committee in screening candidates by asking questions and provide feedback both written and orally about each candidate to a school administrator.
This is a volunteer position but a critical help in ensure we continue to bring in the best staff to Main Street Middle School. If you are willing to add your name to potential Caregiver members, please email Julie Conrad at julieconrad@mpsvt.org using the subject heading "Screening Committee" Feel free to add in if there are particular areas in which you would be most comfortable in
Please note that depending on the number of volunteers not everyone that volunteers will be selected. We will work to ensure it's an equitable process as we determine the committee membership. Thanks for your consideration.
