3rd Quarter Life Skills Lessons
While excelling in academics is important, children also need skills to take on learning challenges, make good decisions, manage strong emotions, and get along with others.
During the 3rd quarter your child had a Life Skills lesson with me once a week. The grade level links below should help you to understand what we have been working on throughout the quarter. Please contact me at cbiolo@kimberly.k12.wi.us if you have any questions.
In our effort to continue the development of good character, our last table talk character trait in our series is “Thankful”. Please see the attached cut-out for questions and talking points to guide your family discussion.
Safety Reminders
The beginning and end of the school day are very busy traffic times and with the weather becoming warmer, we are going to have more students coming to school by walking or on bikes and skateboards. Our top priority during these times is the safety of our students. It is vital that students, families and community members follow our safety procedures. By following the drop-off and pick-up guidelines, the school community will help to ensure the safety of students during these peak traffic times.
If your child is walking or riding their bikes or skateboards to school, please talk with them about our safety expectations. Thank you!
- Students should only be crossing in areas with designated crosswalks.
- Students should get off and walk anything with wheels once they arrive on school property.
- All students should be alert for vehicles entering and exiting the driveways and streets near school.
Forward Exam
This spring all public school students in grades 3-8 and 10 will once again take the Wisconsin state assessment, the Forward Exam. State assessments are required by both State (Wis. Stat. § 118.30) and Federal ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) Law. The state assessment testing window runs between March 18 and April 26, 2024.
