November Newsletter
Lakota Elementary School | November 2024
Dear Lakota Elementary Families,
October has flown by in the blink of an eye, and it’s been a month full of learning, connection, and fun! Thank you to all the parents who attended our recent parent-teacher conferences—we’re grateful for the chance to partner with you in supporting your child’s growth. The students have been working hard, making fantastic progress in their studies, and we’re proud of all they’ve accomplished.
As we wrapped up the month, Halloween brought some much-anticipated excitement to our school! The high schoolers treated us to a spooktacular Halloween concert, filling the halls with festive music and spirit. Our younger students also enjoyed getting into character for our annual Halloween parade, which brought out so many creative costumes and smiles. Classroom celebrations rounded out the day with treats, games, and laughter.
Thank you for helping make this month so special. We’re excited to head into November with the same enthusiasm and look forward to more great learning adventures ahead!
What's happening!
Lakota Elementary Activities
Kindergarten has got to partner reading with the 3rd grade class!
This month we also got to participate in a meet the author event through Scholastic. Students got to interact with multiple other schools and the author of Spookley the Square Pumpkin, Joe Troiano, through Zoom. Students enjoyed being able to listen to the author explain how he created the idea of Spookley and loved learning about the process of writing the famous story.
Fifth Grade has been working hard on their Native American Projects!
Halloween Concert
It was a treat for the elementary students to have the Nelson County band put on an Elementary concert for our PK-6 students!
Fall Extracurricular Sign-Ups:
We’re excited to offer a variety of after-school programs this fall. We continue to offer our afterschool program to students in Grades 2-6. Elementary Boys Basketball (Grades 4-6) continues through November 15th!
