Attend Today...Achieve Tomorrow
Exciting news! Applications are now open for our Local School Improvement Council (LSIC), and we would love to have you join us in shaping the future of our wonderful school.
The LSIC meets just four times a year (virtually) to discuss all things WVVA and support our amazing administration on various projects. Plus, you’ll get to play a role in our academic letter program.
If you’re interested in making a difference and being a part of this fantastic team, email Ms. Stahle at cstahle@westvaacademy.org with a letter of interest by October 30. We can't wait to hear from you!

Club Program
We are thrilled to announce the 2024 WVVA Fall Club Line Up! 🎉 Our school is excited to begin this year’s journey with our club program, featuring a mix of returning favorites and exciting new clubs. Clubs are completely optional, but they offer a fantastic opportunity for students to explore their interests and connect with peers.
Important Details:
- Two Rounds of Clubs: This year, we will have two rounds of clubs. The first round will take place during the first semester, and the second round will be in the second semester. We will introduce new clubs in the spring while keeping a few of our popular ones from the fall.
- Start Date: The club program will kick off on October 7th.
- Weekly Schedule: Each Monday morning, a club schedule will be sent via email to the students. Please remind your child to check their Class Connect Sessions for the club invitation.
Students who have signed up for clubs should be hearing from their club sponsors welcoming them to the club via email and announcing their meeting dates. If you have not joined our clubs and would like to or if your student has not heard from their club sponsor by Wednesday, October 2nd, please contact Mrs. Drobish at ndrobish@westvaacademy.org.
We can’t wait to see our students thrive and have fun in their chosen clubs!

Field Trips
🌟 Exciting News About Field Trips! 🌟
We are delighted to announce that WVVA will be offering a variety of both in-person and virtual field trips throughout the year! These field trips are designed to enrich our students’ learning experiences and provide them with unique opportunities to explore new places and concepts.
In-Person Field Trips: We will be organizing several in-person field trips that will allow students to engage with their peers and experience hands-on learning in different environments. Details about each trip, including dates and locations, will be shared well in advance to help you plan accordingly.
Virtual Field Trips: For those who prefer or need to stay home, we will also offer virtual field trips. These will include interactive tours, live-streamed events, and virtual visits to museums, historical sites, and more. Virtual field trips provide a flexible and accessible way for all students to participate and learn.
Important Information:
- Optional Participation: Field trips are optional, but we encourage participation for a fun and educational experience.
- Sign-Up Requirement: You must sign up prior to the trip to help us plan properly with chaperones
- Permission Slips are required: All students will need to have a permission slip filled out for their student prior to the event.
- Chaperone Policy: A learning coach or an adult assigned by the learning coach must be present when bringing the child. They will need to show an ID for drop-off and pick-up the student. Learning coaches and siblings are welcome, but they will be responsible for the siblings or any other family member present.
- Safety First: The safety of our students is our top priority. If we need to cancel a field trip, it will be done within 24 hours of the event.
How to Find Out About Field Trips:
- This newsletter will provide a list of this month’s field trips.
- You will also receive a school-wide email announcing the opportunity.
