From Bus to Bus or Car to Car, the smiles on the kids' faces could not have been bigger. We have to celebrate that in THIS community, the kids love coming to school. We all know that certainly is NOT the case in many districts. At New Berlin Elementary, the kids look forward to being here and actually don't like leaving. It is so heart warming.

A kiddo walked up to me and said, "Hey Mr. Principal." He said it in a way that I could easily tell he was way cooler than I ever was, and am ever going to be :). "Can you make a pretzel with your hands, " he asked. I tried....more than once because I love a challenge. He said, "Nah.....it's like this! You can do it. Try it." Well, I am a lot of things, but I'm not a liar....he must have shown me five times or so.....I couldn't do it :(.

The story doesn't end there. Because...guess who I am going to find at lunch on Monday? :) I am going to learn this trick no matter how long it takes!! I am not stopping there, either. We are going to make this a thing. What do the kids say these days?! It's going viral (I know I just sounded super gen X there, but it's the best hip phrase I can muster at my age. Like I said.....this kid is cool. So I'm stepping back, and I'm going to have him take the lead on this. ;)
