The Fall 2025 Class Schedule!

Dear Parents,

We want to take a moment to thank you for being a part of HSC. Our goal is to provide enriching, high-quality classes for homeschool students while making enrollment as accessible as possible. However, we need to address an ongoing issue that has had a significant impact on our instructors and the program as a whole.

To be in full compliance with the California Education Code, neither HSC nor the instructors who teach at HSC charge any upfront, out-of pocket fees to parents of charter students. Examples of the fees are a class tuition deposit, a registration fee, a hold your seat fee, membership fee, reservation fee, etc…).

We respect and uphold the legal mandate that vendors and learning centers may not charge parents or guardians any additional fees for a charter school student to participate in a charter-funded educational program. Refunding parents after the fact (after receiving a charter purchase order) does not make a fee permissible.

Legal counsel for charter entities have informed us that charging any upfront, out-of-pocket fee(s) would violate CA Ed Code. The integrity of the California public charter school system depends on lawful compliance; those who exploit it by circumventing regulations put the entire system—and those who rely on it—at risk.

Code, § 49011(a) [“A pupil enrolled in a public school shall not be required to pay a pupil fee for participation in an educational activity”]; 5 C.C.R. § 350 [“A pupil enrolled in a school shall not be required to pay any fee, deposit, or other charge not specifically authorized by law”]; Ed. Code, § 49010(b) [a “pupil fee” is a fee, deposit, or other charge imposed on students or their parents or guardians].)

HSC requires no out-of-pocket fees for charter students, but when families reserve a seat and do not show up, it creates a financial hardship and impacts instructors who spend months preparing based on expected enrollment. Each class has limited space, and every unfilled seat prevents another eager student from accessing valuable learning opportunities. Last-minute no-shows are not only discouraging for our instructors but also disrupt HSC's ability to serve families effectively.

To support the sustainability of our program and ensure fairness to both instructors and families, we ask that you commit to your student’s class enrollments. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to HSC or the instructor directly.

View the 2025 Fall Guest Schedule Here

Please use this time to reach out to instructors directly regarding questions you may have about their classes. Instructor contact information can be found by clicking on "Class Details" on our class schedule page, and then scrolling to the bottom of that page.

NOTE: The Fall 2025 schedule is currently viewable on the 'Guest Class Schedule'. When enrollment opens on Monday, March 10th, the "Enroll" link will be available once you are logged into your HSC Family Account and view the schedule from within your portal.

For technical assistance, contact the HSC Admin under "Contact" on the HSC website.

To enroll in classes, you must first register with HSC by creating a family account, and signing the 2025-2026 HSC Agreement.

It's advised to have your Family Account established before enrollment opens as several classes fill up quickly.

Continuing HSC students - In order to enroll in classes, please login to your Student Portal and sign the 2025-2026 HSC Agreement. It is advised to get your agreement signed ASAP so that you will be cleared to enroll when Class Enrollment opens on Monday, March 10th.

Helpful Tips for New Homeschooling Families

If you're new to homeschooling, or looking for which classes to take based on grade-level requirements, this At-A-Glance view can help you easily find the right classes for your student. The At-A-Glance schedule is the same schedule as our 2025 Fall Guest Schedule, but in a different view. For easy reference, the schedule can be downloaded.

Steps for Viewing the At-A-Glance Schedule

1. Select a location
2. Select a day
3. Select your student's grade level
4. Choose Core, Elective, or Show All to view available courses

Each course will display its subject, making it easy to find a complete set of classes for a particular grade level. This is especially helpful when selecting core classes from required subjects such as:

• Language Arts
• Math
• Science
• History/Social Studies

GREEN: indicates when classes are in session for 1st semester

BLUE: indicates when classes are in session for 2nd semester

RED: indicates when classes are not in session due to a holiday

*Please note that 1st semester resumes for 2 more weeks following Winter Break.

*Also note that Winter Break will be 3 weeks long😃
