Once a Raider, Always a Raider

Amazing Raider Families,
"Set tough goals and do not stop until you get there." ~Bo Jackson~
Hope you are enjoying the President's Holiday. In today's quote, Bo Jackson shares his mindset of setting tough goals and perseverance. Bo Jackson was a famous Major League baseball player who played for the Kansas City Royals, and also played for the National Football League Los Angeles Raiders. Bo Jackson's quote speaks of his determination and perseverance as he realized his big dreams of becoming the first player to play in both the Major League Baseball and National Football League! When we think about how amazing Bo Jackson is he probably thought about the skills he had mentally and physically. Then, he put those thoughts into action, by practicing each day for countless hours! I'm sure he had moments where he was exhausted and at times wanted to just watch tv and not do anything. However, he persevered and stayed disciplined to his goals. As students we must reflect on the countless hours we spend at school and what we learn in class. How much effort do we put each day in "practicing" what we've learned? Do we set tough goals for ourselves and turn in our BEST work? Do we put time to study and mentally prepare to do our very best on our exams? Do we really believe that we can succeed, if we put our time and talent into our schoolwork, and not allow other things to distract us i.e., video games, friends, social media? I ask these questions because at the end of the week we will have Progress Reports on Friday, February 28. It will inform you on how well you've executed the decisions you've made regarding your academics and how well you've been a citizen in class. Reflecting on your practices is important, so that you may make the necessary adjustments in becoming your BEST self!
Remember we can always improve. If you need additional assistance with your academics we have tutoring available, see the information down below. Let's stick to those tough goals and always do our BEST, you can succeed!
