Your Support

PVE Families,

Happy New Year! We hope the break allowed for some relaxation and fun, as well as for some time well-spent with family and friends. As we come back and prepare for the second half of this school year, the PVE staff would like to ask for your help and support in several areas. We met together and discussed areas of strength and areas where we need to focus and refine. Some of those areas include parent pick up and drop off.

Please be mindful and supportive of the following:

1. The WEST parking lot (closest to Black Cat) is for staff parking and busses only. Do not park in this area to pick up students.

2. Please utilize the crosswalks. We ask that you help us model safety for your students.

3. Refrain from using cell phones during the pick up and drop off process.

4. Students may not cross into the parking lots without an adult. You are welcome to park and meet your child at the crosswalk.

5. Be sure to pull forward to the crosswalk in the pick up/drop off loop. This is critical to help with traffic flow.

6. If you meet your child near the planters, please do not let them play in those areas; no jumping in and out of planters or on the rocks. Think of the curbing as the barrier.

7. Please help us be good neighbors. Do not block driveways in the neighborhoods. I have received a few phone calls from homeowners asking for your help.

8. Cell phones, smartwatches, and Gizmos need to be off-- or in school mode/quiet mode for Gismoz or Schooltime for apple watches--when students get to school. We have been experiencing several issues with this at all levels. We talk with students about the use of tools vs. toys and the expectations for these in the classroom. If the item is not used properly, it will be taken and given back at the end of the day on the first offense. After that, a parent will be asked to pick up the device if issues continue.

9. All leave from school must go through the nurse or front office. Your child should not call you from a personal device during the school day. If they are not well, they must obtain a nurse pass to the Health Office to be seen. An adult will make a call if there is a need.

10. Weather is a factor when it comes to transportation. We have seen a large number of tardies this year. Please be sure to give yourself enough time to get to school timely.

11. Reminder that there are no edible birthday treats for PVE. If you would like your child to share with their class, you are welcome to send pens, pencils, erasers, or other small items. You may also think about donating a book in your child's name to a classroom library to commemorate the day.

12. Please be sure to review the bell schedule. We have students who are arriving very early, especially on Late Start Wednesdays. Please respect this collaboration time.

I know this is a lengthy list, but I ask that you help support the staff and the PVE procedures. The safety of all students is of utmost importance, and your modeling goes a long way. Thank you for also modeling kindness and consideration each day as you interact with staff and one another.
