What's happening at ALA? (PreK-12th Grade Communication)
November 1st Student Holiday
As a reminder, Friday, November 1, 2024 is a student holiday for all ALA students. The purpose of the student holiday is to provide the ALA faculty with valuable time for professional learning. The overview of all of our school holidays can always be found on our 2024-2025 Instructional Calendar for ALA Euclid and ALA Tech.
Fall Family Conferences
Thank you to all the families who attended the Fall Family Conferences! Your participation is greatly appreciated. If you were able to attend, please take a moment to fill out our feedback form to share your thoughts on the conferences. We hope everyone gained valuable insights into their student’s progress. We look forward to maintaining communication with our families and supporting our students on their journey to success!

All ALA Families are invited to have dinner at Raising Canes on 106 St. Cloud on Wednesday, October 30th and support our ALA Class of 2026! 15% of all orders placed between 5:00-9:00pm will be direct donations to our ALA 11th Grade students to finance field trip experiences, college visits, and prom. October 31st - Dress Up Day
This Thursday, October 31st, is our Character Book Dress Up Day! We encourage students to dress up as their favorite book characters and bring their favorite book to school to share it with their classmates. If your student chooses to participate, we encourage school-appropriate costumes and remind our students that masks, face paint, and anything that looks like a weapon (e.g., toy swords, toy guns, lightsabers) are not permitted. That same day, our students will have an opportunity to get a sneak peek at a short performance from our Theater students’ upcoming show, The Little Mermaid, as well as receive a visit from McGruff.

Spirit Days: Red Ribbon Week Oct. 28th-31st
Red Ribbon Week is an annual awareness campaign in the United States that raises awareness about drugs, tobacco, alcohol, and violence prevention. Students and staff are welcomed to join us by participating in our Spirit Days and taking the pledge to be Drug Free! All 4th-12th grade students are invited to dress up for our Spirit Days.
On October 31st, all students will be allowed to dress up to represent their favorite book, movie or Disney character. As a reminder, costumes should be school-appropriate. We also want to remind our families and students that masks, face paint, and anything that looks like a weapon (e.g., toy swords, toy guns, lightsabers) are not permitted.
ALA Tech Yearbook
The ALA Tech Yearbook is on sale until Wednesday, October 31st! Prices go up after so buy your copy today! Order here!
7th Grade PBL Launch
On Thursday, Oct 31, our 7th grade students will kick off the Alamo PBL with a trip to tour the Alamo, followed by lunch in Yanaguana Park. While at the Alamo, students will begin to collect information about the people and stories that are shared in remembrance of the Alamo. We look forward to seeing the 7th graders' thoughts and ideas about "How the Alamo should be Remembered" later in the semester at their PBL exhibition. Since 7th grade students will be traveling off campus on the 31st, they will not be participating in the Thursday dress up day.

Highlights
2nd Annual Noche Musical de los Muertos
It was wonderful seeing so many families last Thursday at our 2nd Annual Noche Musical de los Muertos. We want to thank our staff and parents who helped make the event possible through donations, selling wristbands and tickets, and assisting with booths. We also want to thank the faculty planning committee, along with our ALA faculty who assisted with the event, and our fine arts teachers who organized the outstanding student performances. This event was truly a team effort, and we are grateful for everyone’s contributions and hard work in bringing this celebration to life for our community.
