St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 4 | WEEK 9 | 5 DECEMBER 2024
“Dear Lord, on Thanksgiving Day, we bow our hearts to You in prayer.
We give You thanks for all You have done, mostly for the gift of Jesus Christ, Your Son.
For beauty in nature, in which we see Your Glory, for joy and health, friends, and family. For our daily sustenance, Your mercy and care, these are the blessings You kindly share.
So today we offer this response of praise with a promise to follow You all of our days. Amen.”
Allen McMahon | Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
Our school year has rapidly come to an end. It has been a very busy term and we are now down to the last two days.
I would like to thank the school community for the support shown last Friday night for the student Carol’s Night. There was a huge turn out and the students sang beautifully, thanks to the efforts of Mrs McDonald. It was a wonderful community night and staff are to be congratulated with their efforts in preparing for the night.
Congratulations to our Year 6 students who participated in their Graduation Ceremony last week. I would like to thank Mrs Manfredi, Mrs Daniele, Mrs O’Brien and Mrs Vuckovic for their work in having the students ready for the night. The parents from Year 5 & 6 who were involved in organising the setup of the undercover area and the food preparation are to be congratulated on their wonderful efforts. It made the night a memorable celebration.
Many thanks go to Fr Nino, Mrs Manfredi and the Year 5 & 6 teachers for organising our end of year Thanksgiving Mass. It was a very moving occasion with the announcement of the student leaders for 2025 and the hand over from the 2024 student leaders . A big thank you to all the parents and carers who made time to attend the Mass.

All the best to our Year 6 students as they move to high school and I am sure that they will settle smoothly into high school life. To those families who are leaving St Columba’s, we thank you for your help and support throughout your time here and I wish you God’s blessings with your future endeavours.
The St Columba’s staff are also to be acknowledged for their hard work and commitment to our students throughout 2024. Many hours outside of school hours are given by the staff to preparing lessons for the students. Congratulations to all the students for their efforts and achievements over the year.
Some of these endeavours will be reflected in the student’s reports being sent home today. We farewell Mrs Santella, Mrs Brine, Mr Harris and Mrs Tsang who are leaving the school at the end of this year. We wish them all the best in the future.
Please note that our School Counsellor Ms Simpson will be on leave for Term 1 & 2 in 2025.
The school Board and P&F are to be commended and thanked for the work they have put into supporting the school community throughout 2024.
To the many volunteers who have helped with school activities throughout the year, your help is very much appreciated. It is this help that gives St Columba’s such a great community spirit.
Reports are now accessible via Seqta Engage. If you have any questions, please see the classroom teacher concerned.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all our school community a Happy and Holy Christmas.
God bless and keep safe.
