Integrated (IET) GED Math prep and Forklift Training
Do you need a high school diploma and training to operate a forklift? The free 9-week course allows students that are 18+ to prepare for the Math GED exam and Forklift Certification simultaneously. The students receive math concept instruction while learning how to operate the Powered Industrial Truck Operator. The hands-on training satisfies the OSHA 1998 Powered Industrial Truck Operator Training requirements and prepares students for the Math GED exam.
To qualify:
- 18+ years of age
- Students must complete a reading and math assessment and score at a 7th-grade level
- Officially withdrawn from K-12 school

Career and College Readiness Preparation Course

If you earned a high school diploma or GED, and desire to attend college or pursue an industry-recognized workforce credential, HCC offers a four-week Career and College Readiness preparation course. The course prepares students take the Accuplacer exam, offers career and college readiness resource workshops, and assists students in registering for HCC college-level classes or workforce trainings. The program shares information about the Harford Community College experience and campus resources during the four-week interactive session. Sessions meet Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in person (subject to change).
