Bernardsville's Centennial Community Festival - September 14.
The community is invited to celebrate Bernardsville's 100th anniversary on Saturday, September 14 from 2 -7 p.m. at Kiwanis Park on Pine Street. There will be something for everyone - from ax-throwing to a petting zoo. Local bands will be providing entertainment, Oakflower Brewing will be hosting a beer tent, and the Somerset Hills Ball Club will be manning the snack bar. There is no admission fee. Bring the whole family for a fun afternoon! Parking is limited, so please car pool, walk or bike.
Music of the Big Band Era
Jazz trombonist, composer, conductor and bandleader of the Big Band Era, Tommy Dorsey lived in Bernardsville from 1935 to 1942. His home, known as "Tall Oaks," was a 21-acre estate off Old Army Road. Frank Sinatra, who sang with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, was a frequent visitor. To pay tribute to this period in Bernardsville's history, the Bernards High School Jazz Ensemble will perform a concert for the community on November 15. Watch for more details.

MainStreet Bernardsville Has a New Executive Director
The leading organization dedicated to the revitalization and growth of Bernardsville’s downtown district is pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph Oswald as the new part-time Executive Director, effective August 1, 2024.
With a wealth of experience in economic development and community engagement, Oswald brings a fresh vision and dynamic leadership to MainStreet Bernardsville. In this role he will be responsible for spearheading initiatives that enhance the vibrancy, safety, and economic vitality of downtown Bernardsville.
“I am honored to join MainStreet Bernardsville and excited to work alongside the talented team, local businesses and community members to continue the incredible work that Olivia Manning and the Board have started,” said Oswald. “Together we will build on the momentum and create an even more vibrant, welcoming and prosperous downtown.”
Oswald will be manning MainStreet Bernardsville’s table at the Centennial Festival on Saturday, September 14 from 2 to 7 p.m. Stop by and welcome the new Executive Director.
