βTHIS GRAND SHOW IS ETERNAL. IT IS ALWAYS SUNRISE SOMEWHERE; THE DEW IS NEVER ALL DRIED AT ONCE; A SHOWER IS FOREVER FALLING; VAPOR IS EVER RISING. ETERNAL SUNRISE, ETERNAL SUNSET, ETERNAL DAWN AND GLOAMING, ON SEA AND CONTINENTS AND ISLANDS, EACH IN ITS TURN, AS THE ROUND EARTH ROLLS."

Message From Superintendent Mueller
Good Afternoon, CUSD,
This final week of school has been both affirming and emotional. I am always incredibly proud to work with and for the Coronado Unified school community, but never more so than during this time of so many milestone celebrations and heartfelt goodbyes. As our 5th and 8th graders promote and our high school seniors graduate, I see firsthand the connections our students have with each other and with their teachers. What began as tentative, sometimes nervous or skeptical relationships last August has grown into deep and strong connections developed through working towards common goals, meeting challenges, and supporting each other. The work is not always easy but it is always meaningful. Congratulations to each staff member, student, and every adult who has provided support along the way. We did it!
Thank you to all staff members who helped make this past week memorable. From our promotions, awards, and graduation coordinators to our amazing maintenance staff who made sure our facilities and graduation venues were clean and safe and ready for the party; we appreciate all of you!

Caught Being Awesome!
As our educators, parents, and community come together to connect, challenge, and champion our students, we are humbled by the outpouring of compliments. What a positive testament to our CUSD family!
- Arrielle Luna: Sheβs always been really supportive, going to class is always great with her, and brightens my days.
- Matthew Stoever: He helped me through my english learning course, he makes class sooo fun to attend to, and he always greets everyone on campus. He is super awesome!
- CHS Special Education Staff: For the past several years, I have worked as a long-term sub for case carriers at CHS. The entire Special Education department- Dana O'Connor, Katie Quinly, Alex Stucky, Tyler Spillman, Tina Hosko & Bianca Varela- is stellar. They have gone above & beyond to make sure I'm up to speed & they have done so with grace & humor. The paraprofessionals- Jorge, Chris, Monica Ms. V brighten my every day. A SPED department-adjacent teacher, Wendy Lewis, has made even math a joy. CUSD is very lucky to have these people on staff.
Click here to recognize an employee or volunteer who goes above and beyond to make a difference. Those who are "caught" will receive a copy of the positive words that were shared about them and a "Caught Being Awesome" decal. Please take a minute or two to brighten someone else's day!
Mobile Device Protection Plan for Families With CUSD Chromebooks
If your student has a CUSD issued Chromebook, you are encouraged to review and consider purchasing the OPTIONAL Mobile Device Protection Plan (MDPP) for the 2023-2024 school year. The annual plan is designed to cover accidental damage of CUSD Chromebooks including screen breakage. In addition, the plan will protect against spills, fire, flood, natural disasters, and theft/loss. Mobile hotspots, power cords, cables, and other accessories are not covered. Intentional damage, improper device storage, and misuse are not covered.
The cost of the plan is $20 per device per year. The plan must be purchased annually at the beginning of each school year or at the time of registration to be valid. To maintain coverage, a new plan must also be purchased if a student is provided with a replacement device due to damage/loss of their previous device. This money will be used to create a dedicated pool of funding to replace or repair covered technology. All money collected through the program will go into a special account that can only be used to replace or repair technology that is covered in the plan. We highly recommend this low-cost protection plan. To purchase a Mobile Device Protection Plan for your student, please use the instructions at the following link: Mobile Device Protection Plan Purchase Instructions.
