First off thanks to the staff, students, and families for your support and participation in the 1000th game parade. It was a huge success.
Approximately 95% of the students enrolled at MSS have been administered the Reading and Math Inventory. This data is critical as it allows us to establish a baseline for our students. This data is further used to identify gaps and help drive instruction. Parents, be sure to ask your child about their lexile and quantile scores. The students should be able to articulate their grade equivalent and explain their academic goals for growth.
Attendance is a district wide focus for this school year. We will remain vigilant in our efforts concerning absenteeism. If your child is absent from school please be in communication with us. As a reminder evening school is an option for attendance recovery. Evening School days and times are listed below. We will make every effort to work with our students and families, but there is simply no real substitute for being in class with the teacher and his/her peers.
As mentioned last week Moore Street School is in need of a parent and business partner representative on our Local School Governance Team. This is a great opportunity to provide valuable input into what takes place at MSS. Beginning August 23rd through September 1st nominations will be accepted. Votes will be cast Friday, September 2, 2022. Nominations and voting will be made available by paper and electronically.
Our school hours are from 7:30 a.m.-2:10 p.m. Our evening school hours are 2:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. Monday -Thursday. Please review the dress code with you son/daughter. As a reminder feel free to contact the school at (478) 353-8400 with any questions or concerns.
