Below are opportunities that may include some formal training but connects with local companies as well.
InsurAcademy
The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of South Carolina is the largest insurance industry trade association in South Carolina and provides a vocational training program, InsurAcademy, that was developed to train individuals for a career in the insurance industry. In particular, the members of our Association are small business owners in communities across South Carolina, and they are always looking for talented customer-service representatives to join their agencies. Many available jobs do not require a college degree and offer very competitive salary and benefits packages. These are jobs that may be ideal for some of your graduating seniors who do not plan on attending college.
The training is free to qualified individuals and we guarantee at least two job interviews upon graduation with one of our over 375 member agencies in South Carolina. Insurance is a resilient industry that is almost recession-proof, and it is projected that there will be over 400,000 jobs available in the insurance industry in the next five (5) years due to the workforce retiring and the industry expanding.
Our next session of InsurAcademy begins in July and concludes in August. Any students who may be interested and can benefit from this training can email me at insuracademy@iiabsc.com.
I am also available any time to discuss this program with you or your student. And InsurAcademy is not just open to students – adults who may be seeking a career opportunity may apply as well!
