8TH GRADE STUDENTS VISIT BATH TECH
This week Bath Tech was happy to welcome eighth grade students from our regional sending schools. Each school spent the day with us to learn about all that Bath Tech has to offer them when it comes time to make decisions in high school. Each student participated in three different programs and were exposed to a variety skills taught to them by our Bath Tech instructors and current Bath Tech high school students. We would like to thank the following schools for participating in this annual event:
Bath Middle School -- Wiscasset Middle High School -- Boothbay Region Elementary
Woolwich Central School -- Bristol Consolidated School -- South Bristol Elementary School
Great Salt Bay School -- Jefferson Village School -- Nobleboro Central School
We would also like to thank our wonderful cafeteria staff for serving lunches to the over 350 students who attended. This event was, once again, a great success in showing off all that Bath Tech has to offer.

HANDS ON WORK EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITY
Educate Maine is excited to share a great opportunity for any interested student/s 16 years old or older. The Educate Maine's Aquaculture Pioneers program -- a program that connects employers and learners in Maine’s thriving aquaculture industry -- is now accepting participant applications for Summer 2025! This summer Educate Maine is partnering with 17 employers across the coast to provide available positions and we encourage any of your students who are interested in aquaculture or marine science to apply!
The Aquaculture Pioneers Program offers learners an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience at Maine aquaculture farms and hatcheries. Participants receive 10-12 weeks of PAID, full-time work experience at a partner host site, access to industry-relevant educational training, and attendance at personal and professional networking events. Participants can receive school internship credit, and will be enrolled as pre-apprentices to be eligible to earn credit toward a future aquaculture apprenticeship (if interested). No prior experience is required to apply, and anyone aged 16 or older is eligible to participate.
Interested students can learn more about the program and participating employers, read through available position descriptions, and apply through a common application on our website: https://mainecareercatalyst.org/aquaculture-pioneers/.
