A Message From our Principal, Dr. Justin Bogart
Pirate Families:
Greetings from the Great Northwest! Thanks to the collaboration between USD 203 and the Kauffman Foundation, I am able to join other high school administrators from across the area on a short trip to Seattle and Tacoma, Washington, to visit high schools that have career-interest programming for their students. Much like Piper High School and USD 203, these schools are engaged in the pursuit of Real World Learning experiences for their students to be more career- and college-ready after high school.
Our travels today and tomorrow will take us to schools that offer unique programming for students including: comprehensive project-based learning for all students, a complete focus on aviation and aerospace learning, industry partnerships, community connections through learning, and learning focused around design, engineering, and the arts and humanities.
These schools have characteristics to “look for” as we visit each of them. One focus of mine is to see how these schools create communities of students around their academic interests. At PHS, every student selects one of our six career-interest academies, and one of our goals is to create a greater sense of connectedness to their fellow students and our teachers within their chosen academy. We know that when students recognize a connection to school and to their specific career interests, their chances of success are increased. I look forward to seeing how these schools create learning communities within their walls and how we can apply what they have created to Piper High School.
In Piper Pride,
Dr. Bogart

Piper High School Presents Sister Act November 21-24, 2024!
November 21-23 at 7:00 p.m., November 24 at 2:00 p.m.
Based on the hit 1992 film, Sister Act is a lively musical comedy that tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a nightclub singer who goes into witness protection at a convent after witnessing a crime. Struggling to adapt to convent life, Deloris finds her purpose by transforming the choir into a vibrant, soulful group, bringing the nuns closer together and rediscovering herself in the process. Filled with catchy songs, heartwarming moments, and plenty of laughs, Sister Act celebrates the power of music, friendship, and community.
Reserved seats can be purchased online HERE or at the door (cashless entry only).
Recommended for ages 13 and older due to theatrical violence and mature themes. Parental discretion advised.

Hi Families!
Tis the season for a change in routine! Because of the time change, fall sports coming to a close, winter sports starting, and it being the season of school breaks, we notice that routines that were previously working for students might need some reevaluation. Some questions to ask your students to help them choose them revise their routine:
Do you have any activities ending? How might that change impact you?
Do you have any activities starting? What shifts do you need to make to be successful?
Has the time change impacted your routine? What can be switched to after dark so there is still some active time in the daylight?
With the breaks coming, there may be longer projects or tests on the horizon. How can you shift your homework study time to accommodate that?
Are there changes you can make that help you get more sleep?
Are there changes you can make that give you time to do something you really enjoy?
Author Patrick Ness wrote, “The world changes, but it never rests. It’s already changing again. So keep being part of the change, keep creating, keep living and loving. You’re never out of the fight.” As everything continues to shift and evolve, I hope you find some joy in the journey.
