Beckie Moshier- Director of Rockland Works Career Center
To start off the new year we are introducing our Director of Rockland Works, Rebecca Moshier who has been with Rockland Works since the very beginning. Rebecca started off as a case manager at Rockland BOCES in 2017 for the SNAP program and once Rockland BOCES was awarded the “WIOA One Stop Operator” grant through the Workforce Development board of Rockland County in the summer of 2020 Rebecca transitioned to a coordinator at Rockland Works. Q) As an employer, how can Rockland Works help me?
A) At Rockland Works we have a dedicated Business team who is devoted to assisting local employers with connecting clients from Rockland Works, participating in local job fairs, uploading job postings directly to our website, and providing exclusive recruitment events within the community. In addition the applicants that we submit to our business partners are registered with our program working with a dedicated career counselor who provides support throughout the year.
Q) As a jobseeker, how can Rockland Works help me?
A) As a job seeker, it can be scary to enter the unknown and that's where we come in. Once registered with us, you are connected with a career counselor to assist you from resume development, career exploration, work readiness training, job training certifications and direct employment connections. We also have a large network of partnerships and connections that allow us to meet individuals with varying needs, and connect them to the best local resources. All of our services are free of charge!
Q) What is the Youth Connections Work Readiness Bootcamp?
A) Eligible individuals 18-24 can participate in a in-person four to six week classroom training that focuses on customer service, work readiness soft skills, and internship preparation. At the completion of the course, youth are eligible to participate in a paid internship with local employers. Rockland Works pays the youth to be placed on site at participating businesses. If your business is interested in an intern, please contact our business coordinator, Rich Gore.
Q) What is your favorite thing about working at Rockland Works?
A) Being part of a team full of passionate individuals looking to make a difference in the community, seeing to the direct connection with individuals and their employment and education goals, and being able to promote awareness, training and opportunity for the community has been such a great experience. At Rockland Works, we strive every day to assist job seekers, employers and the community creating pathways to better careers and economic growth.

Rockland Works 2023 Wrapped
Rockland Works had tons of exciting events in 2023 that helped our community and provided residents with access to job and education information. Thank you to everyone who helped us throughout the year with events, job fairs, and more! Check out our year roundup below and take a look at some of our favorite pictures of the year.
Rockland Works 2023 Wrapped:
- Over 120 individuals were placed in employment with an average hourly rate of $20 and an average full-time salary of $55,244
- Served over 140 businesses
- Introduced our first three “Meeting the Moment: Innovative Solutions for Staffing” Business Roundtables
- Hosted over 20 on-site tours for employers looking to gain more information about our services
- Creation of the digital newsletter with the capabilities to translate to different languages
- Increased our youth enrollment in the Work Experience Program with 33 youth successfully completing the “Work Readiness Bootcamp” and 17 youth participating in paid work experiences at internship sites
- Funded 90 customers (Adult, DW, & Youth) totaling $395,812 for training programs in Biomedical, Hospitality, Information Technology, and Advanced Manufacturing
- The Rockland WDB and Rockland Works partnered with Jawonio to hire Rockland’s DRC Daniel Moldovan and provide Disability Resource Services to the community
- Attended over 50 community events including Career Fairs and Community Day events
- Partnered with agencies such as BRIDGES to offer workshops for returning citizens and individuals with varying abilities
- Expanded our partnerships with Rockland Community College, BRIDGES, Jawonio, and MindOpen Learning Strategies
- Updated our technology to provide multi-language translation services using Translate Live
Youth Connections Work Readiness Bootcamp Graduation
It was an exciting day for the students in the Youth Connections Work Readiness Bootcamp as they held their certificates of completion high! We are so proud of our students for all of their hard work and dedication to the bootcamp and we look forward to seeing you apply your newfound skills to your internships.
