Irving's School Improvement Goals
Goal #1 - We will have a 5% decrease in the number of students who are chronically absent. (Students are chronically absent when they have missed 10% or more of the school year.)
Data update: As of February 1st, 21.26% of students at Irving are chronically absent. That is a 10% decrease from where we ended last year. This is improvement!! Please continue making sure your child/children get to school on time every day so we can keep crushing this goal!
Goal #2 - We will increase our literacy and math ISASP test scores by 5% in grades 3rd-5th AND 80% students in grades K-2 who are not yet proficient will make typical or aggressive growth on our FAST literacy test.
Data update: According to our mid-year FAST data, 57.76% of our targeted K-2 students made typical or aggressive growth. This is below our goal of 80% but we will continue to adjust our teaching to make sure students are growing toward their literacy goals each day.
4th grade students are working with The Humane Society on a service learning project. An employee of The Humane Society came to visit recently and brought a special friend for the kids to meet!
During this visit, 4th grade students learned all about how animals are cared for and what services The Humane Society provides in our community.
