Upcoming Events in October
Emergency Drills
Some parents have inquired about the drills that we have scheduled this year. In our efforts to make sure that we are always prepared for any possible emergencies. we will have the following drills throughout the school year.
Fire Drills
- Once every month
Earthquake Drills
- 2 are scheduled for this school year
- During the months of October & February
Intruder / Barricade Drills
- 2 are scheduled for this school year
- During the months of September and May
All of our drills and emergency procedures are designed to align with the San Mateo County Big Five emergency protocols. For more information on "The Big Five" please see the link below.
Lost & Found
Moved to the First Floor
Dear Parents,
We moved the Lost and Found to the first floor of the school. As a result we locked the cabinets in the Lobby to the Cafeteria because items were always unfolded and strown about. So, in an effort to maintain a more orderly environment, the Lost & Found was moved. Any clothing not claimed within a week will be moved to the locked lockers in the Lobby to the Cafeteria.
Please, if you have not done so already, using a sharpy pen, write the grade and name of your child on the inside label of all school uniform items.
Sincerely in Christ,
Joseph Ryan - Principal
On the Playground
We appreciate you reinforcing this with your child / children at home.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Help build the connection between home and school.
I trust that everyone had a chance to meet with your child's / children's teachers last week. Parent Teacher conferences serve as an opportunity to build positive connections between the home and school. If you have not had a chance to meet with your child's / children's teacher(s) please schedule an appointment as soon as you are able.
Studies indicate that children make the most progress when the home and school work together as a team. I thank you for choosing All Souls Catholic School as your partner in your child's / children's education.
Sincerely,
Joseph Ryan - Principal
Procedure for the Resource Program
- Pre-referral Policy and Initial Documentation - This may be initiated at the request of a parent. It should only be initiated by the classroom teacher with the knowledge of the student's parents or guardians.
- Formation of SST (Student Success Team) and Learning Resource Plan - The SST includes the student, parents / guardians, all teachers, and Mrs. Tsang, our Learning Resource Coordinator.
- Documentation of student Response to Interventions and other strategies implemented to support student success.
- Recommendation of Formal Assessment - If all documentation indicates that interventions do not seem to support a student's success, then a recommendation for a formal assessment will be made by the Resource Coordinator, Mrs. Tsang.
- Assessment Results - Once the student has been tested by the South San Francisco Unified School District, a formal meeting will be held to share the results of the assessment and any diagnosis of learning disabilities. While Parents always have the right to request that their child be assessed by the SSF Unifed School District, it definitely helps if the parents / guardians and the school work together as a team.
- Follow-up Protocol - If a diagnosis is made, the SST meets once a year to determine the if the student is making academic progress and to make minor adjustments to better support the students' academic progress, if one exists.
If you have any questions at any time, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your homeroom teacher, Mrs. Tsang, or the office.
Spanish Program
If you recall, a few weeks ago we onboarded Mrs. Nathaly Ampie as the Spanish Teacher and 2nd Grade Teacher's Aide. It became very clear to Mrs. Ampie that she needed a full time position sooner rather than later. As a result, Mrs. Ampie is no longer a member of our faculty. We wish her well in all of her endeavors and we thank her for her two weeks of service. She was well liked by the faculty and the student at All Souls Catholic School.

No Response to Virtus Reminder = Deactivated Account = Redo of Fiingerprings
Dear All Souls Catholic School Families,
When it is time that you need to renew your Virtus account, you will receive a reminder. However, if you allow the deadline for the reminder to pass, your account will be automatically disabled by the Archdiocese of San Francisco. As a result, your fingerprints will be wiped from your Virtus account. That means, you will need to redo your LIveScan (fingerprints).
While we wait for your fingerprints to clear again, you will be unable to coach, volunteer at school, chaperone on field trips, etc. So, please pay attention to your Virtus reminders and respond promptly to all notifications.
Athletics Program
NO New Coaches Can Be Added
Dear All Souls Catholic School Athletics Program Participants,
All documents that would allow you to participate in this year's program were due last June 3rd. Unfortunately all sign ups regarding this year's Athletics Program are now closed. We are working from the list of approved parent volunteers that completed their Virtus and Live Scan requirements as requested just prior to our 2024 Summer Break.
The logistics and organization required to run our Athletics Program is quite significant. Therefore pirority will be given to thoe parents that fulfilled the requirements as listed above. We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation concerning this matter.
Sincerely in Christ,
Joseph Ryan - Principal
