Principals' Peek at the Week
Saints Joseph and John School - March 27, 2025
DEAR SAINTS JOSEPH AND JOHN SCHOOL FAMILIES,
As we head into Spring Break at SJJ, this time of year offers a wonderful opportunity to pause, reflect, and embrace the renewal that comes with the season. Just as spring reminds us of God’s grace and the beauty of new beginnings, may this break be a time of rest and refreshment for our Vikings and their families.
Whether you're traveling, spending time with loved ones, or simply enjoying a slower pace at home, we pray that this time brings you joy, peace, and renewal. When we return, we’ll be in the home stretch of the school year, ready to continue learning, growing in faith, and celebrating our many blessings together.
May God watch over you and keep you safe during this time away. Wishing you all a restful, joyful, and blessed Spring Break!
Lenten Blessings,
Mrs. Schenek and Mrs. Francis

A SPECIAL THANK YOU
We are incredibly grateful to Jacob Cullins, a Life Scout from Troop 228 in Berea, for choosing Saints Joseph and John School as the focus of his Eagle Scout Service Project.
Jacob took on the meaningful task of renewing the Mary Ann Simon Memorial Garden and Blessed Mother statue, creating a beautiful and peaceful space for prayer and reflection within our school community. As part of his project, Jacob built flower boxes and planted spring bulbs, constructed a paved walkway, and refurbished the bench and statue of Mary.
His dedication and hard work have truly enhanced this special area on our campus, providing a serene and welcoming place for students, staff, and families to gather in prayer.
SJJ VIKINGS IN ACTION
First graders conducted a science experiment to simulate a rain cloud. Our scientists counted how many drops of water their cloud could hold before starting to rain.
Second Grade created a "Little Entrepreneurs Marketplace" this week. Students created various items made of paper. Students worked on creating their own little shops, complete with a written commercial, slogan, and product description. The students all were able to "shop" at their classmates' stores, while the store owners kept track of their inventory. The students had a great time, and learned how simple resources can be used in various ways.
In social studies, the sixth-graders have been studying ancient India. They recently worked on a project in which they researched some part of Indian culture and then prepared a presentation about it. Their creativity, effort, and poise were out of this world!
LITTLE VIKINGS UPDATE
Preschool has welcomed Spring back by talking about new life, weather cycles, Lent, and some indoor play, due to March's chilly temperatures.
We wish all of the Preschool and SJJ families a restful and happy Spring Break!
