Mountain View Weekly Update
June 11
Announcements & Updates
- All rising 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders have joined a summer Google Classroom page, which contains the required summer readings and assignments for their next grade level.
- Attention 6th grade parents: Please be on the lookout for a letter from Mr. Moser (sent U.S. Mail) regarding your child's Mathematics Pathway (grade 8 or Algebra) for the 2021-2022 school year.
- By now, all current 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students should have completed the Related Arts course request process via the Parent Portal. A follow-up email was sent to those who have not submitted their requests, and holds will be placed on 4th marking period report cards.
- Marking period 4 grades will be posted to the Parent Portal on Monday, June 14.
- Reminder for 5th, 6th, and 7th grade parents: Please reach out to your child’s pediatrician to schedule physicals for sports paperwork for the fall season as we await further guidance regarding scholastic sports for next school year. You may access and print all paperwork and find information regarding requirements on the Student Athlete Information page. Sport forms must be submitted to the Health Office by Wednesday, August 25, 2021.
- If your family is moving out of the district or relocating to a new home in the district, please be reminded that proper paperwork must be completed and submitted to the Main office. Click here for more information. Should you have any questions, please contact the school.

A note from Mrs. Lanka
This week in Advisory, students in grades 5-7 created "goodbye & good luck" post-it notes to decorate our 8th graders' lockers! Check out some of their heartfelt messages and creative drawings below - Congratulations to the class of 2021! In addition, students completed our annual School Climate Survey detailing their school experiences this year. Thank you to all our students for helping us to solidify what we do well, and identifying areas where we can improve next year.
Also, if you're still looking for some local summer camp opportunities for your child, please visit the Morris Sussex ResourceNet to find a variety of options. Topics range from theatre and sports camps to specialty camps for those with unique needs (i.e., children grieving a loved one) and everything in between!
HSA Farm Share fundraiser
Back by popular demand, the HSA has partnered with Alstede Farm for a CSA (farm share).

Where is the pick up: The CSA pickup is scheduled for Thursdays between 9-6 at the Farmstand in Chester. The Farmstand is right off of Route 24 near the Chester/Mendham border.
