Principal's Message
Hello,
CSD has canceled school for Friday and we have a plan in place in case we need to extend into next week. Take a few minutes and read through all the updates below as the message also includes information about first semester grades and YouScience.
School Closure Info
If necessary on Monday, January 13, 2025, students will participate in remote learning. Assignments will be posted on Google Classroom. We will send more detailed information.
If weather conditions extend beyond Monday, teachers will be available to support students via email or Google Meet during scheduled times. Students will also have access to learning platforms such as Google Classroom, Freckle, Formative and others.
Student instructions: DHS Remote Learning Student Instructions
Students should bring home their Chromebook and chargers, and keep their Chromebook charged.
Check your email for specific directions from your teachers if we have a remote learning day on Monday.
IT help links: Access to Chromebook+ Google Meet and Google Classroom Help and At Home Google Workspace and Chromebook Support
Students have been working on the YouScience and the day off may provide the opportunity for students to spend time on this activity.
We understand that power outages or internet issues may arise. Please know that we will remain flexible and work to accommodate any challenges your family may encounter.
First Semester Grades
Students' report cards for the first semester will be available for review today at 4 p.m. You can access it in the Parent Portal. Please take the time to review the report card with your student. Remember to celebrate your student’s accomplishment, and then identify areas that have growth opportunities. If you have questions about grades, please start by contacting the teacher.
Sincerely,
Duane Sprull, Ed.D.
DHS News
CSD Closed on Friday, January 10 Due to Severe Weather
CSD has continued to monitor the weather due to the potential of severe weather conditions. The safety of our staff and students is always our top priority. After consultation with local and state officials and the National Weather Service, CSD schools and buildings, including ECLC and the Frasier Center, will be closed tomorrow, Friday, January 10, 2025. All athletic and after-school activities for Friday and Saturday are canceled.
Out of an abundance of caution in case of a continued closure on or beyond Monday, January 13, students in grades K-5 and Adapted Curriculum classes will be sent home with work packets and a CSD Chromebook for an independent learning day. Grades 6-12 will continue to take Chromebooks and chargers home to access Google Classroom for assigned work.
Staff and families should continue to check email, the CSD website, and social media channels for updates.
