Sunnyvale Celebrates New Fire Station and Trail Development
Fire Station #1
Glazer Trail Connection
The Town of Sunnyvale will celebrate two grand openings on Saturday, May 20 at 9 a.m. Town leaders will officially open Fire Station #1 and the new Glazer Trail Connection.
Sunnyvale Fire Rescue was formally established in 1971 by a group of dedicated volunteers who helped protect their neighbors’ homes. Sunnyvale Fire Rescue has since evolved into a full-time operation staffed by professional firefighters and paramedics, as well as state certified fire inspectors and investigators. This new, state-of-the-art fire station will be the Town’s first since achieving its full-time designation.
The Glazer Trail Connection is located along Tripp Road next to the new fire station. This expansion creates connectivity between four Sunnyvale subdivisions, enhancing the community’s reputation for excellent outdoor amenities.
The program will include an official ribbon cutting ceremony, a push-in ceremony for Sunnyvale’s newest fire truck, a ceremonial tree dedication along the trail and much more.
The events will take place at 305 E. Tripp Road. Parking in the area is limited.
