A Note From Mrs. Ralston
Hello Patterson Families!
All Patterson families are invited to attend a General PTO meeting at Patterson Elementary this Thursday, April 18, from 6-7 pm. We hope to see you there!
The Boosterthon is in full swing and our Pumas are having a blast with the Booster Team each day during specials. We are raising money for a recess shade and benches for our students to enjoy while outside. It's not too late to support Patterson Elementary and Patterson PTO by registering your child at mybooster.com. The Fun Run will be held on April 23rd.
Students in third and fourth grade will be taking the Reading STAAR test on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Make-ups will be give on April 17 and April 18. For the safety and security of the state test, our school will not have lunch visitors, Watch DOGS, or other volunteers on campus these days. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Bilingual Two Way Dual Language Coming to Patterson for the 24-25 School Year!
Complete the Dual Language Application on our school's website. Applications will no longer be accepted after April 19, 2024.
Instrument Fair Information for incoming 5th Graders:
Instrument Fair Information
Students signed up for band should plan to attend one of the instrument fairs listed below.
This is a come and go event, so they can arrive at any time during the times listed.
They should plan for about 45 minutes to an hour for this process.
Students will be required to try at least three instruments, but are welcome to try them all.
They will check out with their future directors at the end of the process, and we will have folks available throughout each event who can translate as needed.
We will have music vendors available to answer any questions and start the rental process for families who are ready to begin that process.
Dates
Saturday, April 20, 2024 - Conroe HS Cafeteria - 10am to 2pm
Thursday, April 25, 2024 - Travis Intermediate Cafeteria - 5:30pm to 7:30pm
If a student is unable to attend one of the instrument fairs, please help get them in contact with their future director to set up a time to be fitted.

All staff and visitors must wear a visible badge at all times, with visitors’ badges including a time and date stamp. Safety is our ultimate responsibility and takes all of us working together.

News from the Nurse
Just a few reminders from the clinic:
Please keep your child at home (and contact the school of your child’s absence) if they demonstrate any of the following:
1. Fever of 100 degrees or more
(Student should be fever- free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medications before returning to school).
2. Suspected contagious disease
3. Vomiting or Diarrhea
4. Severe stomachache, headache or earache
Please send any updated immunization records to the clinic with your student, drop off in the front office or email them directly to the clinic (mcobler@conroeisd.net).
Reminder…
If your child needs medication, prescription or over-the-counter, during the school day, per CISD policy, a parent/guardian must bring it in and sign a permission form in the clinic in order to administer it to your child. If you have any questions please call or stop by the clinic, I'll be happy to speak with you.

Calling All Father Figures!
It's okay if you missed the Watch DOGS kick-off in October! We still want our dads, granddads, uncles, or other father figures to volunteer at Patterson Elementary as a Watch DOG. Please complete the sign-up sheet below and complete the CISD volunteer background check on the district website.
The Watch D.O.G.S. store is the official marketplace for parents, volunteers and school staff to order the items you need during your day.

Counselors' Corner
Hello parents. We are excited to be a part of the Patterson Puma family. We wanted to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves as the new counselors for the 23-24 school year.
Nikki Kelley - (Counselor for Pre-K, 1st, and 3rd grades)
I am coming with 15 years experience as a counselor and educator in Klein and Aldine ISD. I am a graduate of Sam Houston (Go Bearkats), I love to sing and dance, and am a published author. I look forward to meeting the Patterson families and working with you and your students.
Dana Zuercher - (Counselor for K, 2nd, and 4th)
I have 25 years experience as a school counselor, most recently from the Kingwood area and previously, in Aldine ISD. I am a native Houstonian and graduate of the University of Houston. I love visiting the lake and any beach! It is my pleasure to work with the Patterson community this year.

Breakfast
Eat Breakfast at School!
Breakfast is served at school! School breakfast will give your child a healthy start to the day. A nutritious breakfast helps students be more alert so they can learn more in class. Breakfast has vitamins and nutrients for a strong and healthy body. If you qualify for free and reduced price meals, you also qualify for the breakfast program, with no additional paperwork. You can’t find a healthy breakfast at such a low cost anywhere else. Help your child start the day right with school breakfast!

School Information
- Our doors open at 7:15 for all students.
- Students are counted "tardy" after 8:00. Instruction begins promptly at 8:00 and we want our students present and ready to learn!
- Breakfast is served from 7:30-7:55.
- Transportation changes need to be made by 2:15. Emergency transportation changes can be made no later than 2:30.
- Students will not be checked out after 2:15.
- Dismissal begins at 3:10.
- Please display your car sign when picking your students up each day. This is for the safety for all students and to help our staff and substitutes on duty.
