Last Week Sports in Review
Week of August 26 - August 30
- Girls Volleyball had a busy week with 4 matches. All 3 levels went 2-2 and won the volleyball version of the Cowbell Classic vs Casa Roble.
- Flag Football had 2 games this past week. They beat Oakmont and lost to Whitney.
- Football hosted Nevada Union
- Varsity lost a close one 28-14. Quarterback, Riley Dick, broke his arm in 2-places, please send healing thoughts his way for a quick recovery
- JV team won 26-20
- Freshmen lost but had some great plays and great sportsmanship
- Cross Country competed at the Lagoon Valley Classic.
- Varsity Boys finished in 5th place, with Calvin Fear finishing 9th.
- Varsity Girls finished in 2nd Place with Zoe Corder being 1st Overall.
- Frosh/Soph Boys finished in 7th Place
- Frosh/Soph Girls finished in 10th place, with Avery Berlier finishing 4th.
- Freshman boys finished in 10th place, with Lincoln Manweller finishing 2nd.
- JV Girls finished in 5th place.
- JV Boys finished in 9th place.
- Field Hockey played one game at Corning; Varsity won 6-0 and JV lost a close one 2-1.
- Water Polo had tournaments this weekend
- Girls Varsity played at Clovis Friday and Saturday in a tournament and finished 1-3.
- Boys JV played in a tournament and finished 2-2.
Student Body
- This week is SPIRIT WEEK! Today's Fashion Disaster, if you're dressed up, pick up a treat in the Quad at lunch. Tomorrow is Jersey day! Thursday is Kinder Self & Friday is class t-shirt's!
- Student planners and class t-shirts that have not been picked up will be delivered to 4th period classes.
- Auditions for BV's Fall Play, "Clue on Stage" will be held this week, September 5 & 6, from 3:30pm - 6:00pm in the Cafeteria. Show up to auditions both days!
- Students can still sign up and join a Club. Stop by the office student bulletin board or look for the QR codes around campus. Last day to sign up is September 20.
- Two ways to Purchase Tickets in Advance for Sports Home Games
- Buy student tickets in advance with cash at the finance office OR
- Online via Gofan.co, no cash sales at the gates!
- Volunteers needed for the upcoming PTSA Craft Fair! Link for the sign up genius at the student bulletin board.
- Picture Makeup day is September 18. This is not for retakes! If you are new or did not have your photo taken on the second day of school, this is the day to have your photo taken & to get your ID card.

- Girls Basketball Open Gym is on Mondays & Wednesdays in the large gym 6:30-8pm through October 30th. All grades welcome!
- Boys Basketball Open Gym is Tuesday & Thursday in the large gym from 6:30-8pm & Saturday 10-12pm.
- Boys Volleyball Open Gym is 2nd & 4th Saturday 8-10am in the large gym.
- Come watch BV’S Girl Tennis matches today at 4pm here at BV!
- Tonight come support Field Hockey’s first home game. JV starts at 4pm and Varsity at 5:15pm.
- Girls Flag Football has home games tonight starting at 7pm. Come out and show your support!

- The HBCU (Historically Black Colleges & Universities) recruitment Fair for 11 & 12 graders is being held at El Camino HS on September 12 at 1:30pm. (Bussing & a light light lunch provided) *Stop by room A6 (Mrs. Gonzalez) with questions or to pick up permission slip to ride the bus. Permission slips are due by September 9.
- Hey fellow travelers, are you in need of an adventure? Join Mr. Lane and Ms. Yassu on a trip to Switzerland, Italy, Rome and Paris this Summer. For more information stop by either of their classrooms and talk to one of them. Look for flyers posted all over the school!
