MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
CHS Families and Students,
I started my Friday on a high note by reading the email I've posted below. It highlights the EXCELLENT conduct of our girls' soccer team. These actions embody what we expect from our students, coaches, and fans both on and off the field.
I want to extend my gratitude to Coach Johnston for his outstanding leadership, and to our captains, Kayla Schneider and Haidyn Bunker, for instilling these admirable characteristics in their teammates. This is what it means to be a Hilltopper.
GET READY FOR CHS BROWNS VICTORY MONDAY
As many of you may know, I am a HUGE Browns fan, and with the NFL season kicking off this Sunday, I wanted to share an exciting update with all of you.
Introducing the CHS version of Browns Victory Monday! While we can't extend recess, I can bring a little extra joy to our Mondays. After every Browns victory, cell phones will be allowed during STUDY HALLS ONLY on that Monday! GO BROWNS!!!
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Normal 5-day week next week!
Enjoy your weekend.
~ Mr. Tomco
EMAIL FROM SOCCER OFFICIAL
Dear School Administrators,
I hope this email finds you well. I was one of the contest officials on the girls soccer game versus Boardman on Tuesday, September 3rd. My fellow referees and I were impressed with how your student athletes represented themselves and their school at this contest. Even when they were behind in score, the girls continued to work hard as a team and did not give up. While doing so, they were nothing but respectful towards us and did not allow the loss to lessen their good spirits.
I wanted to take the time to email you because far too often we only write and receive reports when something goes wrong, and I think we all should take a few moments to also reach out when exceptionally positive events occur. We all know that poor sportsmanship has been on the rise in recent years (so much so that it is driving officials away), but the Chardon High School girls varsity soccer team exhibited strong sportsmanship at all times and were a pleasure to officiate. On behalf of myself and my fellow officials of that contest, we thank you.
I hope you all have a blessed weekend.
Respectfully,
Logan

Quarter 2: Chardon High School Football
The Chardon High School football players are collecting money to purchase cookie kits to be delivered to the families living at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital. In collaboration with D is For Delicious, our players will be making the cookies, assembling the boxes and delivering them downtown to the children and their families on October 3rd. This “Let’s Make Cookies” Passion Project gives the children and their families a fun activity to do together while in the hospital receiving treatments. “Cookies are therapy!” -Denise Hagan, owner of D is For Delicious.
Below is the website and QR code if you, your family or friends are in a position to help us out. Simply scan the QR code to go directly to the website to order a cookie kit. It will say: Cookie Decorating Kit- prepared by Chardon's TACKLE Project- benefiting Children at the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital. Last year, we made over 150 boxes. This year, we hope to beat that! Last day to donate is Friday, September 20, 2024.
Every donation goes directly to D is For Delicious to buy supplies. Each cookie kit is $28. Please join us as we “TACKLE” this project together. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
~Sincerely, The CHS Football Players~
