Homecoming 2024
We had an amazing week celebrating homecoming! The students participated in dress up days, powder puff football, volleyball, battle of the classes and coronation. We crowned an amazing homecoming queen, Madison Harbarth! East Cougar football took home an incredible WIN during overtime against the Waconia Wildcats. It was truly a wonderful week to be a Mankato East Cougar.
Student of the Month
Every month staff at Mankato East nominate students for Student of the Month. They are looking for students who are upholding the Mankato East Cougar CODE (Collaborative, Open-Minded, Determined, Excellent). At the end of the month one student from each grade is chosen. Students and the staff that nominated them are invited to a lunch provided by our PBIS Team. This month the staff and students had pizza from Pagliai's Mankato. September's winners are listed below.
- 9th Grade - Ella Fugazzi nominated by Jon Dierks
- 10th Grade - Edgar Mayorga nominated by Mignon Disney
- 11th Grade - KJ Arntz nominated by Kiera Swenson
- 12th Grade - Haley Juliar nominated by Amber Waibel
Also pictured is Principal Osman, and Adam Arnst, a member of our PBIS Team.

Hope Squad
September was Mental Health Awareness month! Hope Squad is an evidence based and peer to peer suicide prevention program. This is the second year the group has been at Mankato East! The group is funded 100% by donations received through United Way. It's been a blessing to have this program at our school. Below is a link to a recent KEYC article and interview with Hope Squad Advisor, Emma Noren.
