Welcome back to a snowy January! The few days of snow have been so much fun for our Bears. Feel free to share your Bears in the snow to our yearbook team so we can remember this in our upcoming hot months!

The PTO's one large fundraiser for the year begins January 21st. Be on the look-out for important information to come! This fundraiser helps the PTO put on events such as the Halloween Dance, Movie Night, and Bennett Carnival in the spring!

The PTO is brainstorming ideas to increase the community spirit for the "very best school in McKinney"! Would you be interested in purchasing a Bennett Spirit Yard Sign for $15? What is APEX Fundraising?

Let's be real, fundraising can be difficult to do. Sure there is the usual "buy the things" option. But we try to do things that not only raise the funds we need to put on a great PTO for our Bears, but also enriches their minds and bodies. APEX Leadership designs a comprehensive fundraising plan for schools that incorporates elements of physical fitness, entertainment, fun, leadership lessons, and fundraising for the students that simply make everyone want to get involved.

At Bennett we will have daily Team Days that focus on a character trait: Grateful– Respect – Kindness – Do What’s Right – Stick with It – Start Today. The APEX team will do lessons Wed, Jan. 22nd – Wed, Jan. 29th. The Team Days include Morning High Fives, Class Visits, Recess, Visit Specials, and Carpool High Fives.

The students will be fundraising for their Glow Run on Thursday, January 30th during specials time. Friends and family will be able to sponsor a runner with any dollar amount per lap. Most students run for 26-36 laps (36 max). As the Glow Run ends, students are back in class within the hour. Smiles. Are. Everywhere!

We appreciate your assistance with this fundraiser! This helps the Bennett PTO put on great events through the year and support our Bear Teachers as well!

Join us January 31 for our annual Bingo night! We know this is a huge family favorite and we're excited for all the fun we have!

To ensure that proper elections are held, we are asking for three or more volunteers to join our Election Committee. The committee publicizes the elections, takes nominations, publicizes the nominees, attends the elections, and counts votes. This role is a good way to get familiar with the processes and bylaws that our PTO adheres to. For more information please contact bennettvolunteers@gmail.com.
